When I Am A Little Girl, I Shall Wear Purple...

'When I Am An Old Woman, I Shall Wear Purple')


When I am a little girl, I shall wear purple

And maybe a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me

And I shall dream of meadows with butterflies and summer scarves

And oh, leather scandals and drinking goat's milk with Pawpaw

I shall splash in summer puddles and catch fireflies in the twilight

I will rescue broken birds, learn to yodel and catch the fog in my hands

I will roller skate, and visit secret waterfalls that lay deep in wooded valleys

I will close my eyes and wish real hard that I will stay forever nine

I will move mountains with my faith, and plant fields of dancing flowers

I shall creep out at night and scatter joy-peace-love and kindness

I shall wrap myself in floral scarves and dance in a hidden holler field

And in my Land of Peace only the children shall rule in laughter

But I have to leave for a little while

To prepare a banquet of peace for you

A place of sanctuary where war does not live.

This just proves my point of humanity's stupidity (for love of destruction). War sickens me. :x

It's rather simple you see, man thirts for power. Power corrupts and man will do anything to keep that power. That is why Lord of the Rings is such a good story. J.R.R. Tolken was a genius.

Few corrections...the 8th line from the top, the last word NINE should be MINE

And 4th line should be SANDALS instead of SCANDALS.
