Phuck the Lakers. The Van Halen's of basketball. I do not understand being a fan of a team. It makes no sense at all.

Plus I have heard people speak with confidence and say that the Lakers have no chance against the Spurs.

phuck the Lakers haters...i've heard people speak with confidence that the Lakers will take out the Sperms...

Karls on top of his game, Shaq will dominate the paint, the key is stopping Parkers lucky shooting streak and pentration. And getting Kobe involved when he's hounded by a defensive player like Bowen.
They have a special defense that the Lakers will find a way around. Phil's 9 rings and his coaching staffs expierince will find away. LA's bench has to be consistant, and produce.

Hopefully the May10th-12th hearing dates wont come too close to call when he loses an hour traveling back to San Antonio from Eagle.

Lakers won the regular season series 3-1, and the Lakers will close this out in LA in game 6.

Anyone thinking otherwise needs to be checked into a Betty Ford Clinic.

I think you're right. Karl's on a mission. Parker will be hard to stop, but he's so inconsistent, it's hard to see him carrying the Spurs for a seven game series. I think he can be exploited defensively, too, if the Lakers take advantage of it. Payton can post him up and have his way with him. If they double, it will probably be with Ginobili, leaving either Devean George or Rick Fox open, so those two will have to hit their shots. Same thing when they double down on Shaq. Nesterovich has no chance on him, so they'll probably come with Ginobili. I doubt they'll double off of Karl after what he did to Houston. Another key is whether or not Karl can disrupt Tim Duncan. He isn't going to stop him, but can he at least bother him? Hold him, foul him hard, and go at him on offense. Make him work, and he'll tire in the fourth quarter. He has a history of not finishing strong in physical games. Just look at what Amare Stoudemire did to him last year.

The Lakers can pull it out, but they have to maintain their focus. They haven't done that all year. Beating the Spurs won't be easy. Whoever takes this series takes home the trophy.

P.S. What I don't understand is the need some people feel to put down anything they don't understand. What's the deal with that?

Ouch! Lakers lose! Spurs played good defense... maybe Wednesday? :)

i'll be there wednesday if i can find a cheap plane ticket...

but lets start with sundays dissapointment. After being called down by SBC center security and being warned in the 2nd quarter that I may get kicked out of the SBC center, I went back up and gave a mouthful to those who complained about me and told them that if they had a problem, i'd happily miss my flight back to LA and spend some time with them in the parking lot if they'd care to meet up.
4th quarter, 4 minutes left, I get kicked out. Cussing out the fans, the security and management, even in Armenian, 2 Lakers fans came to my back and they to started talking trash to the security and the people.

all i know that it was one LONG plane ride home...anyone know where i can get a 200 rt ticket to san antonio?

nah that wasn't me, unfortunatly. I'd probably get kicked out again, this time for running on the court and beating up the ref's.

Kobe takes 2 free throws the whole game, after penetrating, being held...

Duncan took more free throws in the 1st half than the whole Lakers team!

THESE REF'S FUCCKIN SUCK IT!!!! this was the MOST PATHETIC display of officiating I have EVER seen. so shiity and inconsistant...there definitly was not the same calls.

Parker carrying on his crossovers, Nesterobiitch holding and pushing shaq, duncan holding malone....UGHHHHH

time to protect our home court, and try to win 4 straight....

14 1st half turnovers, they scored 14 fast break points the 1st half...fouls not called caused turnovers and led to their points.

sprums 30 free throws, lakers 18...with shaq and kobe being aggressive and Malone getting fouled everytime...that is a big discripency...FUUCCCCCCCKING REFFSSSSSSSSSSSS

And what the hell do you have against the Spurs? I don't like them because they're a rival of the Lakers, but what reason could you possibly have? They're a model franchise and their players are model citizens.

jilbagh
05-07-2004, 11:06 AM
the spurs orginisation is a good one. they have class & respect. i wouldn't consider this a rivalry....yet. sacramento, boston, detroit is a rivalry. last year spurms coach popovich told his team that if they celebrate on the court, when they won the series that they would be repremanded. he also make a remark about how cruel and unclass the crowd was when they were heckeling Kobe....

now the way they play defense is another case...thats dirty, and the league is letting them get away with it, it wasn't like that before, bowen and nesterobiitch would get into foul trouble

Hogg
05-07-2004, 04:12 PM
The team doesn't have to be full of b!tches like Sacramento for it to be a rivalry though. I always compare Spurs-Lakers to something like USC-Notre Dame, whereas the Queens are more like the Bruins.

****grabbing everyone in a huddle****

let us pray...

dear lord, we are confronted with an obstacle that was never thought to have us placed in this situation.

lord, today we embark on the start of 2 games at home, our court, our building, our fans and we pray to you to return us to the state of the begining when we were 18-3, we pray to you to energize our defense to provide weakside help, we pray to you to awaken the officials to the numerous holding, grabbing and other violations committed by the opposition.

lord, we pray to the allowance of the crowds energy to be installed in us to play the full 48 minutes with great intensity, execution and without injury.

lord, this being mothers day, we pray that victory will be delivered in dedication to our mothers, particularly Shirley Jackson Malone, mother of a great teammate and big brother Karl Malone, who left this earth unexpectidly and unfortunatly. Mother Malone, we pray to you and trust you will be in the crowd, cheering for your son and his team to conquer and win a championship not only for the organisation, the team or himself, but for you Mother Malone, who has single handedly raised the greatest power forward to ever play the game of basketball.

dear lord, we pray to be blessed by officials who know the rules, aren't blind, attention seekers when on national TV, and who give the respect to Shaq, Kobe, Karl, Gary when they get held, hacked, pushed and checked off of screens.

lord, we pray to you to come out of the evil hole of 0-2 and conquer the enemy and become victorious not only to those who worked hard, but to those who believe.

we pray to you in the name of the father, the son and the holy sprit

amen.

You know what? That game pissed me off even more than the first two. They should be up 3-0 right now. All they had to do was actually show up in the first two fourth quarters and this series would be in the bag. They're obviously the better team. San Antonio just outplayed them. They play with the slightest bit of heart today and they dominate? Will they realize that all they have to do is hustle and help a bit on D and the series is theirs? Or will they give it away for the second year in a row?

its just one game...we only have done 25% of the job, there's a long way to 100%...SA will come out with a few adjustments, but they feel comfortable with whats they've done. they might concentrate too much on defense where it will hurt their offense. the lakers need to not only come out with the same intensity, but turn it up a notch cause game 4 looks like it will be head to head, depending on how our offense flows if we're feeding the big dog at the right times when he has sealed position, and getting kobe to isolate and find open cutters.

Damn, I felt like an idiot for voting that when they fell down 0-2. They looked dead. I've never seen a team turn it on like that. The defense they've been playing is amazing. If they can hold either Sacramento or Minnesota (who I think were the top two shooting teams in the NBA this season) to 30%, they'll get a sweep.

I found it funny that the people who seem to know the most about basketball voted for the Lakers in 6 (ckBejug, dstyle, Hogg, jilbagh, loseyourname, violette829) when they were down 0-2. I really thought we would need all 5 games to win the 4. Too bad I picked the Lakers in 7 when I did my bracket before the playoffs started.
