It was a valiant effort by the Lakers to take home the championship but ever since the start of game 1, the officials have conspired against the Lakers. They decided to call extra fouls on the Lakers, and not call enough on the Pistons. During Game 2, the reason why the Lakers won was because they were playing at home and it was hard for the officials to make those blatantly false calls. Even the commentators had conspired against the Lakers, and one commentator went so far as to read the score WRONG and state that the Pistons had the lead! This was a horrible conspiracy, and the Laker haters were involved in it. Even Kurt Rambis was part of the conspiracy. I have a quote from one of our leading Laker fanatic steering the bandwagon.

back to business...it's history making time, and this is the team that would come out and surprise you by winning it in 7.(Even with the officiating conspiracy!) After all, all the critics and haters were surprised after we won 4 straight against San Antonio.

Letting some numbers do some talking...

Keep in mind that LA was leading the league in free throw attempts!

Free Throws
-----
Detriot 119-171
LA 71-111

Fouls
-----
Detroit 103
LA 142

There's a theory of conspiracy. Now the fouls called were well timed. In the games Lakers were in immediate foul trouble thus limiting their ability to pressure Detroit and stopping them from estabilishing any kind of rythem. Especially in games when key players were forced to the bench early.

For those who may argue they were not the aggresor. Lakers were, Kobe was aggressive and didn't get the call, same with other players taking it inside. Also, the Lakers were kept from playing the same brand of defense the Pistons were, they were defending and playing the in the same degree of physicality and the calls were inconsistant. There were numorous violations disregarded in respect to illegal back screens, pushing off on the rebounds, moving screens, hooking, carrying/palming.

I could point out other interesting facts. But all is said in done.

It was an interesting year, a stressful year, but as a true, faithful and edicated fan, I stuck with them thru the hard times as I always have.

For any bandwagon fans who decided to join when the opportunity struck, I hope you break your leg or neck jumping off cause we dont need your kind.

Congrats Detroit! It's ok to win a championship every 15 years, have fun burning your city down. :o

What you're basically trying to admit in your long treatise is that the Pistons were the better team and outplayed the Lakers.
