Soghmon Tehleryan's grondson (not actually a grandson but something like that.. I don't remeber the exact relation) was my Astronomy teacher in the School(in Yerevan).
Armen Oskanyan. He was also a proffesor in a University and was a scolar at Byurakan Observatory.
He died around two years ago in very heroistic way. At the age of 55. Having a lot of truble with his lungs and bronces, he tried to save two Armenian kids in Sochy. One was saved by him, the other one by guards, third one died(sank), and he...died of hart attack.
He was a great person, and I am proud that I knew him. I am proud of the fact that I have been at his house shearing his meal, and also he has been at my house. Can you imagine a proffesor came down to his student's(I was somewhat around age of 14, 9th grade in the school) house to teach him something..I was preparing for an Astronomy contest. A GREAT AND AN OUTSTANDING PERSON.
You can learn some details about his tragic death going here (http://www.aras.am/ARASNEWS/arasnews12.html) (scroll down to "In the memory of Armen Oskanyan", and also the page may open a little bit slow) and also here (http://www.issp.ac.ru/iao/2004/trag_e.html)

Yea I've seen the film..
You know what.. going to admit something... every time I watch the film I want to cry ... not because of the scenes in the film but ....well I think I'll not say that, besides there is more than one reason.. Just wanted to say that I want to cry when I watch that film... but never have been alone to do that...omg... it's so well done.. the character of the mother, of the aunt...all what they have done to bring him up, the thoughest part is the episode when he want's to settle his mother in the hotel...I'll better stop.
yeah mayrig is the best i love the start how they capture the happiness of everyones faces when his free
ahahha i think ive always cried in that film its really hard not to when the genocide is mentioned

certainly better than any genocidal inspiration your nation has to offer to its younger generation.

Anyone have info on the two other Armenians that killed the two other "Pashas"?
Ahmed Djemal Pasha was assassinated, together with his secretary on July 21, 1922 by Stepan Dzaghigian.
Enver Pasha was killed by an Armenian General in a failed last-ditch cavalry charge on August 4, 1922, near Baldzhuan in Turkestan (present-day Tajikistan).
