Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Yes it is a sad state of affairs.
Neither diaspora or those at home would like it to be so.
Between the last genocide & the Russians emmediatly following + all that preceded and greed ridden oligarch and the lack of unity by a population that is not recovered from such atrocity and continuous pressure ...
We simply cannot get our footing.
    We also cannot stop trying
    Or it's over.

Drum magazines uncomfortable and not ergonomic.

Sadly our Generals are in the oligarchic structure.

        They have businesses to run,

Its not a bad idea to outsource security of the country so the generals can spend time getting richer without distractions.

It all starts from corrupt Presidents who cannot draw the line because they are compromised themselves.

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

And you were wrong a million times.

              Armenia is an independent state.

Every country has a hierarchy of threats.
These threats are delegated depending on the capability of the country to handle.

An extreme example is European security vis-a-vi nuclear threats, logically this is “outsourced “ to the US through treaties.

The problem with Armenia is the corruption has degraded the country so much,
both financial and human resources, having been ( and are being) squandered to a level that the (present) Government cannot meet its obligations.

And YES this is a threat to our independence.

You see guys? How did you all swallow the bait? line and hook together from HHSH. The supposed statement about not being able to defend northern borders (suggesting russian troops) comes from Levon Ter-Petrosian's party member. Please think a little as to why is he making this statement before falling into their trap.
Northern border is the border with azerbaijan. Has there been anthing between our and azery armed forces to think this way? Why would such helpless thoughts be disseminated in nation towards a neighbor that we won a war with and everything prooves that we are ready to do it again? It can be very hard to find reason for such a talk if past 24 years are taken into account. Doesn't jan 20th mean anything?
They like to try to make population to doubt their own army and feel helpless against a neighbor that in reality every citizen should feel superior against and be ready to smash any attempts of transgession. Feel desperate and helpless, so everything can be pushed to collapse and internal hienas can have their fill right?
Here is our centuries old "prooven" formula for defeats and treasons.
This time the problem is about some circles spreading doubts and misstrust into the one and only structure that Armenia has had going very strong. The army.
If the issue was about corruption, then why is LTP party so impotent against corrupt government circles now? Why this party does not impress with it's own clean ethincs and history? A "leader",levon, who created and shaped this very government into such a corrupt structure himself in his time, and now is making such statements about army?
How else can a politician stab the country in back?
I have a neigbor, an American korea war veteran, a military man that spent a life in US armed forces, with whom I have been discussing world matters from time to time. He is aware about Armenia and happenings in region. Lately, we seem to disagree a bit about Syria, LOL. But anyway. Once in the past he started making calculations about Armenia's future regarding military matters. His thoughts were that there would be no problem for Armenia defending against azerbaijan. But when talking about turkey, he thought that calculating turkey's geography and Armenia's landlocked position, the fact that turkey was a NATO member with strong military tradition and allmost 80 mln population, any country having war with turkey had to be a minimum 25-30 mln strong to have the prospect of ending it not defeated.
That is why the Russians are on our western borders. That is why we are allies.
But there is a reason, why they are not on borders with azerbaijan.
Any political entity that makes this an internal struggle issue is outright defeatist and indeed a traitor.

                    I agree with Burjuin.
However, I like to have drum magazines in the "tool box" for suppressive fire.
They are good for dumping in their intirety to buy fellow troops TIME.
I like having several close at hand as an option in --- specific --- situations.
But like Burjuin said, not good for common use.
