Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

No doubt our su 25s as well as all basic su 25s exported since inception are wired for short range air to air + laser guided rockets + free fall bombs + gun. However, unless I'm mistaken, the upgrade package sent to Syria which is used by Russia airforce is plumbed (modernized) for greater standoff capability.
The new ensemble allows other air or ground assets to act as if your radar had a "lock on" when you can't see squat !!! The goal is to hit from beyond enemy range so pilot/plane saftey is increased. Same also with precision guided bombs and smart bombs. Russia has taken this very useful workhorse plane and increased its efficiency and capability by at least 50/60% or more. They take an already existing frame and rewire (plumb) + much better more user friendly c.ockpit at great savings compared to whole new model aircraft.
I believe that is why reports from Syria are saying that unlike Assad's airforce, you can't see the Russians till bomb explodes.
Not really computer sharp but wonder if pics of su 25 operating in Syria can show what's on hard points.
I know Russia is using them as bombers.
Anyway, a medium range rocket launched at upper subsonic can whack choppers at much greater distances and Russia modernization package (s) offer this for su 25.

^^^ might also say ... Sanctions + economic downturn left Russia scrambling. Their airforce modernization planned before sanctions when they were rolling in money has had the brakes put on. As a stop gap to to compensate for new aircraft acquisition , they are modernizing what they have at a fraction of the cost. Compared to f 35 program, Russian move is stunningly cost efficient.

There can be no question of the assignment of even one inch of land- Ohanyan

In the current situation can not be considered the assignment of even one inch of land. This was stated in an interview with reporters in Tsitsernakaberd Armenian Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan.

"What are we talking about? There is nothing like that, to solve the Karabakh problem in the first place, we need appropriate conditions, an atmosphere of trust. In the current situation can not be considered the assignment of even one inch of land. Should make were consensual, within which and can be resolved this issue, "- said Ohanyan, transfers News.am.

He added: "We must do everything to ensure that the ceasefire preserved, was created an atmosphere of trust, has formed a mechanism of international investigations, which will be the basis for further progress in the negotiation process."

According Seyranyan today and the Armenian armed forces and NKR are ready to repel any type of abuse. "Today Armenian army is ready to carry out the tasks before it. The reforms that have been implemented in recent years, and the plan of the Armed Forces corresponds with the nature of war. Just be some priorities, on which we now put the emphasis. We will not allow that there is pressure on the people of Karabakh, or to repeat what happened 101 years ago ", - the Minister of Defence said.

This is political doublespeak for "we we will give you the lands if you meet our conditions".

Why don't we say, if there are concessions to be made they should be made by the loosing side not the winning side.

              end of message.
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

It is also a good source to look at the comparative enthusiasm to that trend of different nations, I have in mind Armenia, Azerbaijan etc

                .
He did what he had to for an independent Armenia, so I don't have a problem or feel the need to apologize for it. If anything, it shows his dedication to the cause. As far as crimes against humanity are concerned, the USSR wasn't lacking far behind the Nazis. But they won and the Nazis lost, so they got to write the history. But yes, if we are going to take that as a negative, the fact remains the armenian participation was a fraction of the Azeris and lacked far behind in enthusiasm.

Yes the modernized SU-25SM does give you the ability to fire the R-73, but our SU-25's aren't modernized. Their AA option is limited to the R-60... If they were modernised, you would have seen them in photos. I've wished for years that they be modernized.
