Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

We need new aircrafts. Our Air Force is becoming pre-historic. Anyone that says we don't need new planes have completely lost there mind. We should just sell our SU25's if that's the case. Maybe buy some MIG29K off India. We need to buy a few planes ASAP!!!!

Longer we play defense only sooner we will be in big danger.

The only reason we don't have a proper Airforce its not money, its not equipment, its not air to air missiles of the enemy..........its freaking Russia. They know we will destroy Fake stalin's Azerbaijan. That is not good business for Russia. So people don't come up with excuses to justify we can't effort an Airforce.
Love that enthusiasm, but even countries a little larger than ours with big pockets (Norway, Switzerland, Finland, Denmark) can only field air forces for defense. 18 or so Su-30s (ideally, we should be operating something with minimal costs of running like the JAS-39) to protect the airspace along with S-300s would be ideal. You can create an air shield around Armenia which would let things like EW planes jam Azeri systems as the ground forces shell them.

Here's a crazy idea- should we offer China and India bases on our territory as we did with Russia? India hates Pakistan, Pakistan hates Armenia. Enemy of my enemy is my friend. China is clearly interested in Armenia for some military reason. With expansion of An alliance to one or both of these countries, we are in a much stronger position on every front.

                  June 7: Notes from Karabakh
                  Edik Baghdasaryan

                  10:31, June 8, 2016
As we reach the command post at a military unit in the northeast region of Artsakh, we have to make a decision – which military posts shall we visit?

Deputy Commander L. Baghdasaryan suggests we visit a post where an Azerbaijani diversionary incursion was repulsed on March 8. A soldier to be decorated there participated in the battle.

In the darkness that day, soldiers at the post had noted the approaching Azerbaijani unit by using heat seeking equipment. The commander ordered that the soldiers not open fire and rather let the Azerbaijani unit to advance towards the positions held by Artsakh soldiers.

It turns out that the Azerbaijani unit stopped in its tracks some 200 meters away and then started to retreat. The commander, noting this, gave the command to open fire. Two Azerbaijani soldiers were killed and one was wounded.

One of the Artsakh soldiers who stood out during the skirmish was Vladimir Khechoyan, who headed the machine gun detachment.

We were going to see Khechoyan receive the Military Service Medal.

On the way, at one of the posts, we were met by Battalion Commander Vardan Koujoyan. Before arriving at the predetermined location, Deputy Commander L. Baghdasaryan started talking about Koujoyan, that he and his wife hadn’t had any children for eight years. In April, the couple had twins. The next day, when fighting broke out along the Line of Contact, Koujoyan rushed back to Artsakh from his home in Yerevan.

Upon arriving at the spot where we were to meet Koujoyan and after making our introductions, I asked about the age of his twins. His reply – 2 months, 6 days and 8 hours. He then showed me a photo of his daughters.

Vardan Koujoyan has been serving in the army for 17 years; 13 on the frontline. He talks about the soldiers under his command and said they performed their duties conscientiously when they repelled the Azerbaijani diversionary unit. It was their duty, he said.

Vladimir Khechoyan, the soldier decorated, says that there were ten in the Azerbaijani unit and that on March 8 he was the senior gunner at the post. The young man graduated from the agricultural college in the town of Masis. When I ask what he plans to do after getting discharged, he says he doesn’t know, but that he wants to continue learning.

The soldiers at the post are adamant, we have to drink the coffee they made us. They want to prolong our meeting. Soon afterwards, they are the ones asking the questions.

I remember media saying "ohanian did not deny claims of russian-armenian commission discussing the possibility of supplying Su30s." What that really means in terms of actual delivery is anyone's guess.

But I do like the idea of getting Su30s since it's a multirole fighter and given our resources, it's probably the most optimal choice of planes and best use of money.
