1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

As you all know we will have a military parade this year.

I have some predictions of what kind of new equipment we might see after 4 years.

New things that we will see for sure,

      1-2K12 Kub

      2-Pachora 2M

      3-9K35 Strela-10

      4-Milan ATGM

      5- Igla-S

      --

New things we will probably see,

      1-AR1A
The AR1A multiple launch rocket system was developed from the A-100. It is aimed mainly at the export customers. The new artillery rocket system was first demonstrated in 2009.

      2-PT-72U (Polish modernized t-72)
Army Guide - information about the main battle tanks, armoured vehicles and armament of the land forces and also the information concerning other army subjects - PT-72U, Main battle tank, Armoured Vehicles

      Things we might see,

      1-BM-30 Smerch

      2- Pantsir S1

      3- Iskander M

      ----

We already know that we are trying to acquire mid/long range balistic missiles from Russia. We even took 200 m. credit for that purpose. Are we really going to buy Iskender? Is it realistic? We will find out the answer after 7 months.

      What are your predictions?

As much as I would like to see new stuff, I have a feeling our MOD will stick to its policy, and we will not see too many things on top of what we saw in 2012.
I'm going to put my money on some T-80s.

Armenia to purchase SU-30 fighter jets from Russia

Seyran Ohanuyan, Minister of Defense, confirmed the reports that a recent Armenian-Russian inter-governmental session focused on plans for purchasing SU-30 fighter jets from Russia.

Summing up his agency’s 2015 achievements, the minister said that the Armed Forces' development plan envisages proportional efforts towards developing new weapons and buying new supplies. The minister repeated his earlier statement that the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), of which Armenia is a member, is of crucial importance for the country in terms of neutralizing threats from Turkey.

“We are annually increasing our capacities – in terms of both prompt deployment and mobilization readiness,” he added.

Asked about the Ministry’s risk estimates in light of the Turkish-Kurdish clashes close Armenia’s border, Ohanyan replied, “First, as part of the military strategic revision, we have estimated all the security threats, considering also the developments in the neighboring state – on our border. We are carrying out the planning in collaboration with the National Security Service and other bodies.”
General Antranik (1865-1927): “I am not a nationalist. I recognize only one nation, the nation of the oppressed.”

Armenia may acquire Russia-made Iskander-M missiles, Su-30 fighters
            January 27, 2016 - 12:19 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - Armenia continues acquiring long-range and precision-guided weapons for its armed forces thanks to its close military ties with Russia, RFE/RL cited the Defense Minister as saying on Tuesday, January 26. “In the framework of a [Russian-Armenian] agreement signed in 2013, we acquire modern and compatible weaponry, military hardware and long-range and precision-guided systems,” Seyran Ohanyan told a news conference.
Ohanian gave no details of those acquisitions that were apparently discussed last week in Yerevan at a meeting of a Russian-Armenian intergovernmental commission on bilateral military-technical cooperation.

The four-day meeting was co-chaired by Konstantin Biryulin, the deputy head of a Russian government agency overseeing arms deals with foreign states, and Armenian Deputy Defense Minister Alik Mirzabekian. The Armenian Defense Ministry said that the meeting discussed, among other things, Russian arms supplies. But it reported no concrete agreements to that effect.

In June 2015, the Russian government provided Yerevan with a $200 million loan for the purchase of more Russia-made weapons for the Armenian army. Shortly afterwards, a Russian official revealed that the two sides are negotiating on the delivery of advanced Russian Iskander-M missiles to the Armenian army.
With a firing range of up to 500 kilometers, the Iskander-M systems would have significant implications for the military balance in the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. They would make Azerbaijan’s vital oil and gas infrastructure even more vulnerable to Armenian missile strikes in the event of a renewed war for Karabakh.
Russia has not exported such missiles to any foreign state so far. Ohanian and other Armenian military officials have been reluctant to comment on the possible Iskander-M deal.
Ohanian on Tuesday did not deny media claims that the Russian-Armenian commission also discussed the possibility of supplying Armenia with advanced Russian Su-30 fighter jets. But he declined to elaborate.
Armenia’s modest Air Force currently consists of more than a dozen older and less sophisticated Su-25 jets that are designed for air-to-ground missions.
The Russian and Armenian Defense Ministers on December 23 signed an agreement on creating a joint regional air defense system in the Caucasus.

After the last two years the situation isn't same anymore. For maintaining the balance we have to show our capabilities. We don't have the luxury to stick on our old policies. By talking about some secret weapons we can't convince the enemy to stay peaceful. It's not realistic anymore.

All these large armaments are nice for repelling a major attack. For the rest of the year we should focus on improving our own UAVs and arming them. A small anti armament UAV out of the Igla or RPG 18 launcher as a Kamikaze UAV. Or modify our present UAV by replacing the two tubes with launchers. Primitive but a starting point.

Armenia changes route of gas transportation from Russia

Baku. Agshin Rafigoglu - APA-Economics. Armenia may change the route of gas transportation from Russia through Georgia, said the Deputy Director of Gazprom Armenia Grant Tadevosyan, APA-Economics reports citing to Georgian press.

According to him, 17 km part of the pipeline in Georgia and 3 km part in Armenia passes close by Azerbaijani border: “This region is too instable”.

Along with this, he added that the pipeline was repeatedly damaged due to other reasons and direct gas transportation failed.

“Currently, discussions on change of route are underway. Major part of the works will be carried out in Georgia. Therefore, this issue must be discussed by Foreign and Energy Ministries of the two countries”, he said.
