What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

    • Massive Turkish Army convoy enters Syria, heads towards Kurdish front-lines – photos

      By News Desk

      21/11/2017

BEIRUT, LEBANON (10:55 P.M.) – A massive Turkish Army convoy was pictured entering Idlib Governorate from the Hatay Province, yesterday, marking the second time this month that Ankara has sent forces to Syria.

According to Syrian opposition media outlets, the Turkish Army convoy established a 3rd ‘observation’ point in the Al-Aqil Mountains near the ‘Anadan Plain of west Aleppo.

The Turkish Army has now positioned themselves at two separate areas near the Kurdish PYD-controlled Afrin Canton in northwestern Aleppo.

Recently, the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan hinted that his army was preparing for a large-scale operation against the predominately Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG), adding that Turkey will not allow any terrorist forces on their border.

          • Lragir.am

            • US to stop arming anti-IS Syrian Kurdish YPG militia - Turkey

              • BBC
Image copyrightAFP Image captionThe YPG played a key role in removing IS from Raqqa and other strongholds
The US is to stop supplying arms to the Syrian Kurdish militia the YPG, Turkey has said.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said President Donald Trump had made the promise in a phone call to his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The White House said it was making "adjustments" to its support for partners inside Syria but did not explicitly name the YPG.

Turkey has long complained about US support for the group.

Washington has viewed the YPG as a key player in the fight against so-called Islamic State (IS), but Ankara brands the group's fighters as terrorists.

Turkey says the YPG is as an extension of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), a group it has been fighting for decades in south-eastern Turkey.

The US, however, has seen the YPG as distinct from the PKK. In May it announced it would supply arms to the Kurdish elements of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which were poised to drive IS from its stronghold of Raqqa. It had previously armed only Arab elements of the SDF. Image copyrightAFP Image captionUS-led coalition military advisers have been assisting YPG fighters
"President Trump instructed [his generals] in a very open way that the YPG will no longer be given weapons," Mr Cavusoglu was quoted as saying in the Turkish Hurriyet Daily News.

He said Mr Trump gave his assurances after President Erdogan reiterated his concern over the continued supply of weapons and armoured vehicles to the YPG.
              A major shift

Analysis: The BBC's Laura Bicker in Washington

If this is true, it would be a major shift in US policy. The Kurds have proved to be valuable partners in the fight against IS.

It is notable that Washington's account of the call does not mention taking away the arms that the Trump administration agreed to give the YPG earlier this year - something Ankara has called for. Turkey feared the weapons would end up in the hands of fighters intent on creating an independent Kurdish state.

The Pentagon is likely reassessing its needs in Syria as the fight against IS has waned in recent months. But whatever adjustments are being made, it is clear the US military has no plans to leave the war-torn country. It has been revealed that about 2,000 US troops are now based there - a significant increase since the Obama administration.

The White House confirmed the two leaders had spoken by phone and said Mr Trump "reaffirmed the strategic partnership" between the US and Turkey.

"Consistent with our previous policy, President Trump also informed President Erdogan of pending adjustments to the military support provided to our partners on the ground in Syria, now that the battle of Raqqa is complete," the statement said.

"We are progressing into a stabilisation phase to ensure that Isis [IS] cannot return. The leaders also discussed the purchase of military equipment from the United States." Image copyrightAFP Image captionPro-Syrian government forces have also driven IS from land it once controlled
The SDF, an alliance of Kurdish and Arab militias, has driven IS militants from much of the land it once controlled.

The YPG and its political arm, the Democratic Union Party (PYD), denies any direct links with the PKK, whose insurgency has left thousands dead.

But Mr Cavusoglu has previously said that every weapon obtained by the YPG constituted "a threat to Turkey".

The SDF declared victory in Raqqa last month after a four-month battle to retake the city from IS, which had ruled it for three years.

              • The West is pushing hard for a war in the Middle East.
Since they lost their foothold in Syria, the Shekelists, Brits and Saudis are pushing hard for a start of a Sunni/Shia major wars in the Middle East.
The US has a mix stand due to oil prices that would skyrocket hurting the US economy (but want to sell more arms).
Most likely the shekelists will soon trigger the conflict in Lebanon after Russia pulls out of Syria (by the end of the Year).
Beginning of 2018 sounds about right. Relative how bad, how long, how far it will spread the eastern turks will get the idea to use the regional wars to venture into Artsakh anytime after March.

                • US Intelligence Chief promised SDF corridor to the Mediterrenean: Former SDF Spokesman

                  By Izat Charkatli
                  -
                  05/12/2017

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (1:49 PM) – According to the SDF’s former spokesman Talal Silo in a long interview released by the Turkish Anadol News Agency, US intelligence promised the Kurdish Syrian group a corridor to the sea should they launch an extensive operation against ISIS in eastern Syria.

US intelligence had wanted its Syrian proxy to capture Albukamal and most of the Syrian-Iraqi border to prevent a link up between the two Middle Eastern countries- such a feat would link Tehran to Beirut and allow weapon transfers between Iran, Syria, and Hezbollah to flow at ease.

Unfortunately for US planning, the rapid Russian-backed Syrian advance on Mayadeen and Albukamal foiled those plans forcing the SDF to stay confined to the eastern parts of the Euphrates.

Those details do however explain the Syrian Democratic Forces’s initiative to establish the Idlib Military Council in Afrin earlier this summer as Kurdish forces seemed to eye a route to the Syrian coast through northern Idlib.

Turkey, aware and anxious about such threats, deployed a considerable force south of Afrin and set up more than a dozen checkpoints and observation posts to anticipate any potential movement on the part of the SDF.
