Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Agreed...we do have them!! I think in addition to updating these systems and maintaining them we should Focus on more mobile systems as Tors or Buks! Mobility is of great importance, as immobille units and radars could be easy targets for their missile atracks! Strelas, iglas and Sa-6s are good...i was glad to see the gophers as well...that gives us 6 types of mobile aa systems (if u add shilkas and osa-akasas well)...
Briefly said: our immobile aa defense systems are pretty good...portable systems are pretty good as well...but we can focus more on the mobile systems..substituting sa-6s and gophers, even the old krugs and sa-3s with buks or tors can be a great step forward...

In any case considering the structure of the azeri airforce...i think our systems for now should be able to handle them efficiently...

I was just looking at some pics of the unity 2014 military exercise and I have to say, the new uniforms and helmets look awesome. Are they manufactured by the polish-armenian company?

20 METERS! Although the helicopter fell on our side it was flying either right on the front line or was on no mans land. I'm not trying to justify what the azeris did. It is a much graver provocation to shoot down a helicopter, that to fly that close to the adversary, but why would the orders have been, to send a Strategic asset of our people right onto, or past a "HOT" front line. We all saw the video and saw how close the point of missile impact was to the point of contact with earth, so my point is why were they ordered to do such a thing. In order to fly a strategic asset on a mission like this, a order has to come from VERY high up. No Armenian pilot is going on any joy ride. I'm just curious what minister or political figurehead lives in La La land, and whether they will be calling the shots during the next war. I feel it's reasonable to ask that question. All this BS about it being a training mission is irritating. There's plenty of land to conduct "training missions" elsewhere. It was meant as a sign of "strength" and "courage", but someone's miscalculations resulted in the loss of three lives and a strategic asset of ALL ARMENIANS. Screw azeris for what they did but I can't blame them either. If an Azeri heli flew that close to a section of trench I was in charge of, I would order a shoot down as well.
I just hope our leadership isn't as reckless when the time comes...
You're right when you say it was a sign of taunting the enemy but was it a mistake? Debatable. Like I mentioned earlier, this is not the first time we do such flyovers. Azerbaijan does them too during military exercises. The difference this time is that Azeris struck us when we weren't expecting them to because no side has shot down anything (besides that drone in 2011) in 20 years. We were all surprised ourselves. Perhaps we should have expected they would eventually shoot one down since they are, after all, much more likely to start a new war and do reckless things. But alas, it's done now. From now on, you can bet both sides will be more cautious with taunting exercises.

I expect our side to shoot down a few helicopters or shoot down a jet in retaliation. All this emphasis on our anti-air systems is pointing towards it. It's imperative that we retaliate just enough to not let this go unpunished & to deter future attacks but not as severe a retaliation to spark an accidental war.

Those helmets are fairly new, I noticed them appearing in service around December of last year, and looks like they are more widespread now. The Army is making a transition.

I had no idea you had contacts at Lubawa Armenia, and that you were keeping tabs on their manufacturing deadlines
