Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

You guys go ahead and celebrate if you want but this is no cause for celebration. This whole scenario shows that it is not just the general public who underestimates the situation but the army to is now also delusional. That operation did not rescue anyone-our boys are still dead. These young men died because either they or their commander underestimated the enemy. There are all kinds of warning signs here but people just see what they want to see. Dear Fed can i ask you why should it always be us who are worried about setting dangerous precedent? Do not the azeris set new precedents all the time by shooting and executing our civilians, threatening to shoot down civilian airplanes, shooting down unarmed potrolls .... yet it is we who need to worry about precedent? Double standards like these are exactly why turks think they can slaughter armenians at will and get away with it. Bad things happen to us because we let them happen to us. We do not punish the enemy for killing our kids and then we wonder why they keep killing our kids. Big deal we killed two of theirs..you know we lost three plus a chopper so you do the math and see who is wining. What we need to do is inflict total damage so they will not even think of even coming close to the border. We need to shoot down multiple aircrafts and inflict very heavy casualties and to make it a point that it is done as retaliation and it will be way more severe next time. I am not ok with our young men being used for target practice, if they are going to die then let them die fighting but not in a senseless scenario like this. Every real warrior is ready to die fighting but dying like this is senseless and a waist. For those who are afraid of resumption of war (including myself) i say wake the xxxx up because war is upon us.

And who claimed that this is the official response to the helicopter downing? You are not satisfied with a flawless operation where we recovered our dead, killed two of them and did not lose anybody despite the fact that such an operation would favor the defensive Azeri side that simply had to lay an ambush and wait for us to try to get them back. Armenians are celebrating not because this is enough but because this was an amazing operation that was carried out in defiance of everyone & expectations.

No, war is not necessarily upon us yet. Setting reckless precedents lead to unpredictable results, one of which can be an actual war. Armenians want war less than Azeris because the status quo favours us (we control Artsakh), so we are much more risk averse than them. The response should be disproportionate, that I agree with you. Downing helicopters & jets would be a good response because the precedent has been set & would offer a somewhat more predictable result than using heavy artillery. The latter might be misinterpreted by the enemy side as Armenians launching a new war or would escalate their response as well by them bombarding us with heavy artillery which would create even more casualties. The downward spiral could be endless.

Guys calm down, our leaders know quite well what to do and when to do. Just for a revenge haykakan we cant shoot any of their aircrafts or helicopters. We dont need war cz if we do, war will start. This is not war. When large scale operations are done thats what war is. Thats not what we want cz we wpn the battle. The thing is their leaders dont care abt their soldiers and choppers or the rest cz they can buy many.but instead we care abt our soldiers and do not respond as they did. I assume we will only hit any of their choppers if they come close to the contact line by which they can blame and say that you shot our chopper in the same circumstances. But give some time and wait for the real response.

We have those situations because we are not a nation with no birth certificate and in constant search of identity and fear of other nations. We hold our values, and despite having lost so much to turks, we rather behave and deal with others our way.

Well, xxxx me silly, they did do an operation. Now I feel like a complete moron lol. Sorry guys

Tunnel warfare is very real...what's funny about that?
You are suggesting that a conventional army takes up guerilla warfare tactics when it is not necessary. The helicopter was 200 meters away. All it took was bounding and peeling like I said.

The Armenian Army is not hezbollah, you are requesting they take up a completely different style of fighting, or even a hybrid style that would take a decade to implement and perfect. This is not asymmetrical warfare, we have the firepower to repel any attack.

If you want to avoid a war, do not respond to the helicopter downing militarily. Simply do not fly helicopters near the LoC during any possible training flight. Partial blame goes to Armenians for this incident as well, those helicopters should have never been there in the first place.

Good job and a thumbs up to our boys, they did it like true operators should. Bound to the objective, and then peel back with your comrades remains. I did not expect them to do this, that was ballsy Ill admit. (Diplomatically of course) I would have preferred a diplomatic solution, if Azeris and Armenians were able to cooperate on such an occassion, then It would have foreshadowed a possible truce for both sides.

This is the picture of the crash site, where is this located? Its not where the Azeris said it was, at least according to this picture
