Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

    PanARMENIAN.Net - RA Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tigran Balayan said that three Armenians, including one citizen of Armenia – Arsen Elbakyan, were killed in the terrorist act at Vladikavkaz market. “Consul General of Armenia to Rostov-on-Don Ararat Gomtsyan left for Vladikavkaz,” Balayan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.

    Besides, according to the list published on the website of Vladikavkaz city administration, Sergey Grigoryan, Irina Gasparyan (1964) and Arsen Elbakyan (1986) are among 16 victims of the terrorist act.

    Shahnazar Shahnazaryan (1920) is on the list of those who were hospitalized.

    The blast occurred near the city's central market at 11:22 Moscow time. The explosive device, equivalent to 30-40 kg of TNT, was detonated by a suicide bomber in a car.

    At least 16 people were killed, including a child. According to the Minister of Health of North Ossetia, around 113 people suffered in the blast. 99 people were hospitalized, including children.

    A criminal case was initiated over the explosion under several articles of the Russian Criminal Code – murder of two and more persons, terrorist act and illegal trafficking in weapons.

    They said four have been killed and a few more injured. I don't understand why there was a suicide attack in North Ossetia. It has nothing to do with Chechnya or Iraq.

      This is a way for the wahabists and external forces to destabilise the region and create inter-religion hatred. So far it's succeeding, and USA is the secret backer of these islamists. Anything that weakens Russia is in USA's favor.

        The Ossets are enemies of the Chechens. Many Ossets and Cossacks fought with Russia against the Wahabis. It could also be Georgians who conducted the mission.

            Car Bombing In Russia's North Caucasus Kills 16

            (Vladikavkaz, Russia) -- A car bomb killed 16 people near a busy market in Russia's North Caucasus region, wounding more than 100 others.
            The attack in a Christian part of the region comes as the Kremlin tries to rein in a growing Islamic insurgency.
            A security official said three suspects were detained.
            Authorities say the bomb, packed with metal bars, bolts and ball bearings, had explosive power equal to about 70 pounds of TNT.
            Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said the perpetrators are "bandits with whom there can be no truce." President Obama said the bombing underscores the resolve of the U.S. and Russia to work together in combating terrorism.
            In March, Islamist militants claimed responsibility for suicide blasts that killed 40 people in the Moscow subway system.

            “People behind attack in Vladikavkaz has no heart or soul" - Putin





            The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr was soured by a terrorist attack in the North Ossetian capital of Vladikavkaz. Early on Thursday a suicide car bomber hit the central market of the city killing 15 people on the sport, including one child, and injuring more than 100 others.

            Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev said that the authorities will do their best to find and to punish the organizers of the attack. He expressed his sympathy to the friends and relatives of the victims and ordered the government to provide them with all necessary aid and support.

            On Thursday, meeting with Ravil Gainutdin, head of the Russian Union of Muftis, Prime Minister Vladimir Putin made the following statement.

            I find it very unfortunate that there are people who even on the day of a Muslim holiday commit such terrible crimes like the one which was committed in Vladikavkaz. The people who did this clearly have no heart or soul. This is our common duty to fight the criminals. We're counting on the Muslim population of Russia to make a decisive contribution in this battle. I know the attitude of Muslim people to these extremists. The Russian authorities feel the support of the Muslim population especially in the North Caucasian region and are grateful for it. We hope that together we will overcome all the difficulties, Putin said.

            In his turn Ravil Gainutdin said that in his sermon on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr he urged Muslims to follow the commandments of Prophet Mohammed who condemned the killing of innocent people.

            I think that the Muslim believers have heard my preaching. Those who do not go to mosques they lose out on religious guidance. They are the enemies of our religion and of the whole society.

            The tragedy in Vladikavkaz happened the same day another terrorist attack happened. On that very day in 1999 a blast of a 9-storey house on Guryanova street in Moscow took lives of 92 people.

            The Russian law enforcement agencies are now working quite efficiently to protect people from terrorist threat. They have managed to prevent dozens of terrorist attacks.

            The organizers of most of the attacks were either arrested or killed in action. In particular recently the security forces killed the organizer of two blasts in Moscow metro earlier this year.

            The same fate expects those who stand behind the attack in Vladikavkaz.

                Death toll in Vladikavkaz market blast reaches 17

                Another person has died of their injuries after Thursday's suicide bombing in the southern Russia city of Vladikavkaz, bringing the death toll to 17.

                The attack devastated the main market in the capital of North Ossetia, part of Russia's troubled North Caucasus region.

                "Fourteen people died at the scene of the blast, and another three died in a hospital. Among them are an 18-month old boy, a man and a woman," the republic's health minister, Vladimir Selivanov said.

                Over 120 remain in hospital, he added.

                Police have detained three men suspected of involvement in the bombing.

                Prime Minister Vladimir Putin said the attack had been carried out by people "without a soul, without a heart."

                The blast is the latest in a series of terrorist attacks that have rocked the troubled North Caucasus region in recent weeks, including a suicide attack on a military base in Dagestan.

                The Vladikavkaz market had been attacked in the past. In 1999, an explosion killed 55 people and injured 300 others. In 2008, 12 people were killed and over 40 injured in a bus bombing

                    The bodies of several Azerbaijanis killed in an explosion in a central market in Vladikavkaz this week were buried in a local cemetery on Sept. 10. The blast killed 1.5-year-old Elnur Ashinov and his grandmother Yasemen Mammadov, Vladikavkaz City Administration Press Secretary Diana Salieva told Trend.

                    According to Salieva, two more Azerbaijanis - Elvira Ashinova and her son Rashad - were hospitalized in Moscow. Another Azerbaijani was killed in the blast. Although his last name was reportedly "Aliyev", he has not yet been fully identified, she said.

                    According to the Russian Health Ministry, 17 people died in the explosion. A total of 107 people were also hospitalized. Three are in critical condition. A blast at the entrance to the market was heard at 11:15 a.m. Moscow time two days ago. A suicide bomber blew himself up in a car filled with 30-40 kilograms of TNT.
