Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Well, failed or success, Palestinians deserve their own country, more accurately they have a right to one. Hopefully, they will be able to discern the fact that if they want to succeed as a state, they cannot start targeting Israel by force, given it's unprovoked.

Israel is obsessed with maintaining a "xxxish state" and afraid that the native Muslims, which have more children, will prevent this. Thus, they will naturally discriminate in some cases against non-xxxs to keep their dream of a purely xxxish state alive. In effect, Israel is a theocracy, I hate when Westerns (esp Americans) proclaim Israel to be a "democracy" that needs to be protected....right dream on...

This is the problem. I'm afraid a two state solution isn't a solution and won't solve much either because it's Israel's policy of segregation and promotion of a J3wish colony that is causing the problems.

Americans think that switching the face of the president every 4 to 8 years is a democracy.

Fatah delegation in Armenia to boost UN bid for statehood

          June 19, 2011 - 17:49 AMT

PanARMENIAN.Net - A Fatah delegation arrived in Armenia on Sunday, June 19, to strengthen support for the recognition a Palestinian state, Ma'an News Agency reported.

Nabil Shaath, coordinator for international relations, led members of Fatah's Central Committee in meetings with a number of Armenian officials and leaders of political parties. The visit is part of preparations to obtain international support for UN recognition of a Palestinian state in September. Bilateral issues were also discussed.

In addition to Armenia, Shaath will also visit Moldova, the Philippines, Mexico, and Colombia in order to boost a UN bid for statehood in September.

Spain has recently said it is in favor of a Palestinian bid at the UN, although the issue has divided European nations, with Germany opposed to recognition and France uncertain.

I still don't think we will recognise Palestine. Why get involved really? Plus we will just use the Karabakh argument to defend it. (We can't recognise any territory until we recognise NKR)

The list of countries Fatah is visiting is rather interesting and strange choices. The article states they are going to visit Armenia, Moldova, the Philippines, Mexico, and Colombia. Of all these states, only Armenia has zero contact with the PLO/PNA. Moldova, Mexico and Colombia do not recognise Palestine but they have official relations with the PLO/PNA. Philippines recognises Palestine so i'm not sure what the point of that is.

FYI, countries that are in the same boat as Armenia:

Andorra, Armenia, Liechtenstein, Republic of Macedonia, Monaco, San Marino

              Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand (OIC observer)

Cook Islands, Fiji, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu

              Liberia, Malawi

Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Dominica, El Salvador, Grenada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Panama, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago

              Sovereign Military Order of Malta

I too do not think we should recognize Palestine before Artsakh is de jure recognized by Armenia.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

We should barter to our advantage. Either something with Israel and if they reject, something with the Palestinians. Recognition of Artsakh would be nice. A longshot, but should be attempted.

That is another issue and one which I think should be looked into by the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the NSC, and the President. Some issues to consider:
How would Armenian recognition of Palestine affect Armenians in Jerusalem, especially the Armenian Quarter, and Armenians in israel in general? Another question to be raised is would israel be willing to forgo some of its military ties with azerbaijan if Armenia did not recognize Palestine. I think they would not, and to be honest israel probably does not care too much what Armenia decides, of course they would rather all nations reject the resolution, but they care more about the power players on the international stage.

Indeed. We should try to get something out of this in return. Maybe some kind of guarantee for the Armenian quarter, at the very least.
