Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

    Hello Armenian Friends,

Although I'm Turkish, I've used the word "friends" because I don't hate you. On the contrary I see you as our neighbours who share same pain, sufferings.

Yes, the Ottoman Turks have killed Armenians.
    Armenians have killed Turks.
    These happened in 1915.

    I cannot remember 1915 since I was born in 1958. But I remember 1992.
Do you remeber 1992 ? Please click this:

I think it was a revenge of Armenian. They have killed Azeri Turks. But still I don't hate Armenians. I hate only this feeling of 'hate'.

Why? Hate- hate- hate? To where? A vendetta? What's the use of a vendetta? If you are sincere about genocide, you should have protest Khojaly Massacre too. I'm very sorry about the Armenian babies, children, women, men who died on 1915. Ofcourse I'm very sorry. A baby ! A child ! A pregnant woman! Innocent and unarmed children. But you did the same in a very near future.
Maybe this was a revenge of 1915 maybe not. Whatever it will be, if you really sincere about your suffering of terrible conclusions of hate, war, then you should have suffer this event too. In Turkish we have an old saying: Don't do something (which you don't want them to do to you) to someone.

Please try to forget the past. Please don't turn this to a vendetta, don't raise your children with hate and revenge but love. Please end to hate, stop to hate. What happened is happened please look at the future. Try to heal our wounds together with the help of love not hate. Wounds will not heal by hate and revenge. Killing an innocent human being kills your humanity as well. Please stop hate. And to hate.

    Regards from a Turkish woman.

There is a difference between revenge and justice. WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE PAST. “Those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.”

        Re: end to hate

From an outsiders point of view, this issue won't resolve until the Turkish government accepts the Armenian Genocide. For your example, regarding death tolls between the Armenian Genocide and Khojaly Massacre. Where in the Genocide, the death toll is roughly 1,500,000 ; the death toll for the Khojaly Massacre was 600. It did not nearly wipe out an entire race of people.

I see where you're going with your idea. Though you, yourself, are acknowledging it; I dare say you're not in the majority. 21 other countries recognize the event, but not the one who caused the Genocide.

Unless you have some sway in your government, I guess the best solution for now is to raise your children as you suggest. Likewise, I will raise mine that way. However, try not to stop there. Educate your fellow Turks. Forgetting the past is dangerous, acknowledging it is the first step to recovery - perhaps in the far future, there will be a healthy relationship between Turkey and Armenia, but it can't start on a blank state. What was wrong, must be righted.

I do give you credit for having the guts to come into an Armenian forum.

I wonder how willing this guy would be to forgive and forget if we invaded his country, killed all the people, took their possessions and sent him on his merry way to some far off land with peanuts in his pocket. Yeh lets see him forget and forgive that.

            Re: end to hate

Turkey is a country and identity built on lies, its culture stolen from the natives of Anatolia, its lands stolen from the native people, ancient Churches turned into Mosques. Turks are the enemies of Armenia, they tried to eliminate us and no doubt they will like to finish the job. Anybody who thinks we should be friends with those murderers and liars is a true fool.

                End to Hate?
Then stop the killings of Hrant Dinks

                End to Hate?
-Stop desecrating our churches and give our small Armenian community equal rights as Turks have.
-Give us back what was stolen from us.
                -Learn to apologize.

                End to hate?
Then stop the killings of Gurgen Margaryans

                End to hate?
                Then stop the cultural vandalism.

For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.
