You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Armenian oppositionist calls for declaring top pro-Kremlin media chief ‘persona non grata’
The Russian leadership appears to have multiplied its efforts to bring Armenia into the Eurasian Union and prevent its participation in Western and other projects and blocs. Emissaries of the Kremlin one after another have started coming to Yerevan to ‘persuade’ Armenia that its place is in the emerging neo-Russian Empire, which will be called the Eurasian Union. Some Armenian analysts believe that Moscow is panicking about Armenia’s loyalty.

Head of the Russia Today state media holding Dmitry Kiselyov, who is described by some as Putin’s Goebbels, made a number of controversial statements during his visit to Armenia earlier this week. Some of those remarks caused a great discontent among opposition circles in Armenia, and Nikol Pashinyan, an opposition lawmaker, even urged the Foreign Ministry to declare Kiselyov a persona non grata in Armenia. Another opposition MP, former Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexander Arzumanyan called for conditions to ensure that “strangers” do not “bark” in Armenia.

Kiselyov had, in particular, complained about the fact that the Russian language and culture were allegedly not duly respected in Armenia. “We need to jointly promote the Russian language and culture in the country [Armenia], change the language law, otherwise it will affect the security, which Russia provides for Armenia,” Kiselyov said. Russia’s former ambassador to Armenia Vyacheslav Kovalenko, meanwhile, demanded that the Russian language in Armenia be given the status of the second state language.

Yerevan officially responded to these claims. According to Armenia’s Minister of Education and Science Armen Ashotyan, the Armenian government sees no need for giving the Russian language the status of a state language in Armenia.

The best conditions for the advancement of the Russian language have been created in Armenia. The study of the Russian language begins at Armenian schools in the second grade, other foreign languages are studies from third grade onward. “We see no need and I personally do not see the need to empower the Russian language in Armenia with any constitutional status. Because Armenia has a mono-ethnic population, because in Armenia our official language is Armenian,” said Ashotyan.

“The Russian language for us, firstly, is an exclusive means in terms of security, membership in the military-political alliance, operating military equipment of Russian make. Secondly, the Russian language is a language of international communication in the CIS as well as in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union. And thirdly, Russian is a key to a huge cultural heritage,” the minister emphasized.

Thus, he actually answered the arguments that military equipment in Armenia is mainly Russian and that one needs to know the Russian language to operate it. Ashotyan believes that the level of the knowledge of the Russian language in Armenia is enough for the operation of military equipment.

Commenting on the statements by Kiselyov, Ashotyan said: “When our Russian colleagues, friends, officials arrive in Armenia, they should speak correctly with the Armenian society. Otherwise, the statements by Russian colleagues will create a situation that is best described by the proverb about a bull in a china shop.”

According to some Armenian analysts, the visit and cynical behavior of Kiselyov is part of a plan for the forcible inclusion of Armenia to the Eurasian Union. Despite the statements by the Armenian leadership about their readiness to join the Eurasian Union “if two or three problems are settled”, it is obvious that the participation of Armenia is under a big question mark because of the Nagorno-Karabakh problem. The positions of the presidents of the Eurasian Union on this issue do not coincide with the position of Armenia.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov plans to come to Yerevan on June 22-23 for the “removal of contradictions”. Before that, on June 17-18, the top Russian diplomat is scheduled to visit Baku. Moscow also invites Azerbaijan to participate in the Eurasian Union, and if Baku agrees, it will be possible to close the question of Armenia’s entry.

I get everything that's said, and agree.
The Russian version of rush limbaugh is a jerk, like rush.
But the last sentence or so --- "and if baku agrees, it will be possible to close the question of Armenia's entry" ---
Does that mean that mean that sultan baboonieve has ANYTHING whatsoever to do with our joining? Or for that matter any other fkn monkeys?
I like resus monkeys but find absolutely no reason to seek any consultation with them or any other...
Disagree with last statement, but rest of post makes perfect sense.

Of course, all Western financed structures do pro western propaganda.
As do all Russian financed structures.

As Armenians, Why should we make a difference?
Are we supposed to be the enemies of the West?
              And for who's sake?

Our Russian's friend must not see anything personal, or criminal in it.
              It is just 'bisnes' ....

Turkey and United States Conspire to Issue April 24 Statements

                [img[http://www.yerakouyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/Harut-Sassounian.jpg[/img]

                By Harut Sassounian

While it is not surprising to learn that Turkey and the United States have coordinated their official declarations on the Armenian Genocide, recent revelations have confirmed their shameful behind-the-scenes schemes.

In a speech delivered in Australia late last year, former US Ambassador to Armenia John Evans revealed for the first time that the State Department regularly conferred with the Turkish Embassy in Washington on the content of the US President’s annual April 24 statement on the Armenian Genocide.

This clearly reflects the degree of collaboration between Turkey and the United States on the genocide issue, and even more appalling, American officials’ succumbing to the gag rule imposed by a denialist regime!

The American-Turkish collusion on the Armenian Genocide issue was recently corroborated by Deniz Kahraman in the Aydinlik Turkish newspaper, revealing that the two governments jointly drafted the statement that Prime Minister Erdogan issued on April 23, 2014. He offered condolences to Armenians, Turks, and others who died from various causes during World War I, thus equating the deaths of Turkish soldiers with Armenian Genocide victims.

Basing his information on unnamed diplomatic sources, Kahraman wrote that the White House had been fully aware of the content of Erdogan’s statement in advance of its release. In fact, the Turkish Prime Minister’s text was prepared with U.S. input and finalized by officials in both countries. It appears that the initial text was prepared by the Turkish Foreign Ministry, after which the White House made some modifications, “based on U.S. sensitivities” on this issue. On April 21, the Turkish Foreign Ministry forwarded the final text to Prime Minister Erdogan’s office which released it to the public on April 23.

Kahraman also revealed that in return for accepting U.S. modifications of Erdogan’s statement, Washington offered to block the pending Armenian Genocide resolution in the Senate, after its adoption by the Foreign Relations Committee in early April.

Aydinlik reported that Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu has personally followed since last year the Armenian Diaspora’s preparations for the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Turkey is reportedly evaluating its countermoves, which include convincing the Armenian government to revive the comatose Armenian-Turkish protocols, while simultaneously energizing the mediating efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group to resolve the Karabagh (Artsakh) conflict through public diplomacy.

According to Aydinlik, Ankara is evaluating its plans on how best to counter Armenians who are pursuing their demands from Turkey through three separate channels: “legal, political, and public opinion.” Kahraman reported that a serious political rift emerged last June between Turkey and the US, after which Washington started pressuring Turkey to take more resolute steps on the Armenian Genocide issue and normalize relations with Israel. To appease the United States, the Turkish Prime Minister issued a statement on April 23, on the eve of the 99th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.

Aydinlik also reported that the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in favor of Turkish denialist Dogu Perincek had strengthened Ankara’s hand in international circles. However, Washington wanted Turkey to be more accommodating on the Armenian Genocide issue. That is why Turkish and US officials orchestrated the release of a public statement by Erdogan on April 23, right before Pres. Obama’s own statement on April 24.

It is therefore not surprising that State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki had high praise for Erdogan’s April 23 statement, describing it as a positive step that would pave the way for improved relations between Armenia and Turkey. Unbeknownst to the public, the State Department was in fact praising a statement that it had helped draft.

While Turkey and the United States are playing a dishonest game of publicly supporting each other’s privately orchestrated statements on the Armenian Genocide, Foreign Minister Davutoglu let the cat out of the bag by announcing in Parliament that Erdogan’s April 23 message of condolences was part of the Turkish campaign to undermine Armenian efforts to commemorate the Centennial of the Genocide.

Finally, I wish to remind all those who have wrongly claimed that Erdogan’s April 23 message was an unprecedented pronouncement by a Turkish leader, almost 90 years ago, on June 22, 1926, Pres. Kemal Ataturk made a truly bold statement in an interview with the Los Angeles Examiner: “These leftovers of the Young Turk Party who should have been made to account for the lives of millions of our Christian subjects who were ruthlessly driven en masse from their homes and massacred….”

                .
Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Thanks Londontsi for above post of Harut Sassunian's article.
Now lets compare this article of efforts of Genocide denial and subsequent behind our back colaboration between US and Turkey of torpedoing the 100th anniversary comemmoration efforts by us, with articles flooded in this forums by Vrej, from Mouradian and lragir about sad events in 1991.
Why is this effort by Mouradian and inc. going on at installing this issues at center of armenian social political life right at this moment, which are aimed at destabilicizing Armeno Russian relations while at the same time being silent of a gigantic subversive politicking going on that's led by Turkey and US that is hurting all of us?
It is abvious. It is a US/Western led campaigne in trying to prevent Armenia's acession into EEU and breaking down Armenia/Russia alliance overall.
In one hand Igor has elevated the events in 1991 to level of genocide and trumpets this as loud as he and his collaborators can, but on the other hand, instead of reflecting truthfully about recent US conduct regarding Genocide recognition and Artsakh conflict settlement, in all of his articles implies that there is some kind of relief or better survival chances for us in west and with breaking our relations with Russia.
Look at above. Some russian political correspondents comments have been elevated and equated as an official Armeno russian future relations indicator.
It is even silly to make grandious political domsday forecasting or future policies demands using cheap tactics and louding the pages of book that suits specific goals.
Yea right. Cyvil war is going on in Armenia. I anderstand Igor has been dreaming about it for long while. But even as a metaphore it does not sit as serious.
He has to put breaks on his cart sometimes and see where he is going( if he is in charge of his own actions in reality), because most of his efforts will lead us nowhere not by Russian conduct(we have seen all, there is to see for some 200 years), but by US and western conduct.
I believe that We are not blinded yet with nazi euphoria or european fairy tales like some Ukrainians have.

I believe that We are not blinded yet with nazi euphoria or european fairy tales like some Ukrainians have.
                      My Dear,
Can You remind me, where was Serjik standing, when he proclaimed his acceptance of the capitulationist turkish protocols?
