Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

                • Turkish forces kill 43 PKK fighters in seven days

Turkish security forces have killed 43 fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), banned in Turkey, within seven days, local media reported on Saturday, citing a statement of Turkish General Staff.

The PKK fighters were killed during counterterrorism operations conducted in the country’s southeastern provinces of Sirnak, Diyarbakir( aka Dikranakert) and Hakkari on August 17-24, the Yeni Safak newspaper reported.

The security forces reportedly managed to seize firearms and C4 explosives during the operation.

On Monday, Turkish security forces killed two militants of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) and destroyed their bomb-laden vehicle in the Gurpinar district of eastern Van province.

A Turkish army soldier mans an outpost near the town of Kilis, southeastern Turkey, adjacent to the wall the country had been constructing to boost security along its border with conflict-stricken Syria, background, Thursday, March 2, 2017

Turkish media also reported that the country’s security forces killed about 17 PKK fighters and captured 10 more in the period from August 14 to August 20 in a series of anti-terror raids.

Tensions between Ankara and the Kurds escalated in July 2015 when a ceasefire between Turkey and the PKK collapsed over a series of terror attacks allegedly committed by PKK members. The Turkish forces are currently involved in anti-PKK raids across the country, as well as against Kurdish positions in neighboring Syria and Iraq.

                  • Turkish Army invades northern Syria, launches attack on Kurdish-held border town

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (8:40 P.M.) – On Sunday around noon, Turkish soldiers crossed the border into a Kurdish-held part of northern Syria after which heavy clashes broke out between the warring parties.

According to a local outlet, the Turkish military briefly entered outskirts of Bubana town, some 15 kilometers west of Ayn Al-Arab (Kobane), but were quickly expelled by Kurdish border guards.

Sporadic skirmishes continue in the region with bullets flying across both sides of the border.

Despite being the strongest ally of the US-led coalition, the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) remain at odds with the Turkish military due to ties with the outlet PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party).

The Turkish Army and allied Islamist groups already control a large chunk of territory in northern Aleppo; however, the Turkish-led forces are yet to push east of the Euphrates River despite ongoing aspirations of reaching Raqqa province.

                    • PKK militants take out 28 Turkish Army troops – full report

                      By Chris Tomson

DAMASCUS, SYRIA (10:45 A.M.) – Over the past week, 28 members of the Turkish Armed Forces were killed-in-action amid counter-insurgency efforts across the country.

According to an official statement by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), most of the casualties were inflicted by Kurdish fighters in Hakkari province.

15 soldiers were reportedly killed overnight on August 31 in a raid on a Turkish military convoy traveling between Cukurca and downtown Hakkari; at least one armored vehicle was destroyed.

Meanwhile, three Turkish soldiers were killed and six more wounded after PKK militants targeted an undercover unit deployed in the Semdinli district. A fourth soldier was assassinated by the same PKK unit on September 1 near Koordine hill after which the Kurdish insurgents pounded the area with mortar and artillery shells.

According to the statement, PKK fighters also launched a localized assault on the village of Sapatan in Semdinli district on September 2, forcing the Turkish Army to withdraw from the area.

The same day, PKK insurgents raided a checkpoint in the Osyan area of Siirt province, resulting in the death of two Turkish soldiers.

On August 29, an additional seven Turkish soldiers were killed when an armored vehicle took a direct hit by an anti-tank missile while traveling between the villages of Hiseti and Kerze. The entire crew was reportedly burnt alive on the spot.

The death toll remains a PKK claim and cannot be independently verified by Al-Masdar News.
