Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • Re: Why Turkey will never be admitted into the European Union

I think Canada should join rather than Turkey cause we are so much more richer and powerful than a third world country like Turkey seriously our Government and our Economy beats Turkey's for centuries. Honestly you do not really believe that Turkey can join since for the following reasons:

    1) Turkey is third world
2)My country does NOT get along with Turkey cause its dispicable human rights record
    3) They ride off the US in this so called war
4)They will not the genocide of the Armenian People and I support Armenia all the way Turkey must accept the genocide now.
5)There are lots of things about Turkey that is just not developed or Western like the EU is - Btw The EU is one of the worlds two Superpowers the other being the US and Turkey is NOT in Europe any so it has no right to claim that European Heritage.
    6) Also surprisingly enough Turkey will be richer than Bulgaria by 2013 but Romania as an EU State will be far far richer than Turkey almost 2x it will be the richest in the Western Balkans and Eastern Europe.

    Here's the proof: http://www.imf.org/external/pubs/ft/...DPDPC&grp=0&a=

Also that orphanage campaign in Turkey is enough to call Turkey a real troubled third world struggling country. Turkey claims it to be a smear bullxxxx! Its the truth and Turkey needs to stop lying and blaming its more vunerable neighbours and work with them diplomatically and establish better relations with Armenia. Cause Armenia has a stronger heart than Turkey, and trust me I know cause I lived their for 4 years. I went to Turkey also and I left the week after, the people are very rude and arrogant.

Being in a turkish prison is bad enough...being a transsexual in a Turkish prison - much worse.

      Turkish court acquits transsexual singer

ISTANBUL, Dec 19 (Reuters) - A Turkish court has acquitted a popular Turkish transsexual singer over comments questioning a military campaign against Kurdish separatist guerrillas, state-run Anatolian news agency said.
Bulent Ersoy was tried on charges of "turning the people against military service" in a case that raised concerns about free speech in the European Union candidate, where criticising the military, powerful and respected institution, is a crime.
The court ruled that Ersoy's comments, which angered the country's powerful armed forces, were within the bounds of freedom of expression, the agency said late on Thursday.
"The court acquitted Ersoy, ruling that the defendant's comments did not constitute a crime and were in line with the free expression of individual views," the agency quoted the ruling, widely reported in the Turkish media, as saying.
Court officials were not available to comment on the ruling.
Ersoy, one of Turkey's most famous singers, caused a stir in February by saying that were she able to give birth to a son she would not allow him to fight in neighbouring Iraq, where the military had launched operations against Kurdish rebels.
If found guilty she could have faced up to 2-1/2 years in prison.
Ersoy made her comments on a television show at a time when the Turkish army was conducting a major operation against Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) rebels in northern Iraq.
The PKK use northern Iraq as a base from which to launch attacks in southeastern Turkey, where it seeks to create an independent homeland. Some 40,000 people have been killed in the conflict since the PKK took up arms in 1984. (Reporting by Daren Butler)
