Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

That link you posted has good info more people should read. I teach some of this in my classroom and the wideeyed reactions it draws are pretty indicative of how ignorent the american public is about its own situation.

Remember societies tend to be accurate reflections of the individual citizens who make them. This will all take time and hard work: Rome wasn't built in a day. Violent revolutions will never solve this issue, it will only set back any progress that's been made over the years, and risk the collapse of Armenia.

And everyone needs to remember: there is corruption in every country. If anyone is interested, I recommend this eye-opening six-part report on the oligarchs of America. Western oligarchs make Armenia's oligarchs seem like two-bit pickpockets by comparison! http://ampedstatus.com/full-report-t...es-of-america/

Thank you Artashes and Haykakan. To be fair, I learned a lot of the things I wrote from the former member "Armenian" who used to post on HyeClub. Including the link and critical analysis of Armenian society.

Artashes, I appreciate the kind words and support. It looks like you aren't as "angry" as I sound on my posts, but we both want the same thing and we both see many of the lies the powers that be are trying to sell us.

Haykakan, you can usually find interesting articles about corruption, globalization and crimes of the western oligarcht at http://www.globalresearch.ca

To be more graphic look at the link below. It will illustrate the extent of the Western Oligarchs. Next time someone speaks of Armenians in this fashion I will have a long laugh at them.

Visualized: Bank's massive profits on derivatives. When the bubble bursts most likely the tax payer will end up with the bill.

The crimes being done have never been accomplished in the history of mankind before. This is a huge theft never before seen, and will lead to a great suffering yet to come. So much for the Hotel in Armenia...LOL

I think your comment on quantifying my anger has been miss calculated .
I personally think this next point is extremely important --- if my anger ( HATRED ) , extreme HATRED is directed toward other Armenians or our honest supporters ( including J- ews ) we won't need any hominoid turks to tear us apart .
My attempted metered reflections on contrary thoughts to mine are my way to understand other ernest people's ligitimate right to have their --- own --- perspective .
Of all thie incredibly important things we Armenians need to do , argueing and fighting and hating amongst ourselves is not one of them .
And belittleing other fellow Armenians will do more to tear us apart . That's the same as helping turks !!!!!!!
We need to learn how to come to the table and discuss with intensity and great purpose without calling each other name , brother.

Good question. It doesn't seem like something the Sarkisyan administration would do: Serj is essentially guaranteed to win next month's election, he wouldn't move against someone like Hayrikyan who is polling less than one percent. It would be utterly senseless. Serj is a skilled chess player and has shown himself to be a far-sighted political strategist, he would know that his administration would take flack for it from the general public, and he'd only be giving the Armenia-haters at armenianow and azatutyun.am ammunition against him. In fact, regardless of the truth the foreign-funded "opposition" press will have a field day trying to use this to bash Armenia.

                Let's look at the possibilities:

-false flag attack by Hayrikyan's western backers in order to rally people against the "criminal regime" in Yerevan.

-Hayrikyan's western backers felt he outlived his usefulness to their interests or were afraid he would start talking about the wrong things.

-The Russians got fed up with Hayrikyan's persistent anti-Russian rhetoric and decided to make an example out of him (although if that were the case Hayrikyan would have been killed, not wounded).

-Hayrikyan got involved with some "mafia"-wannabe businessman or local politicians and then things went sour.

-Some personal, village-style feud between Hayrikyan and whoever ordered him shot.

-I can't think of any other scenario. It is almost impossible that it was a random act of violence because: a) Armenia is actually a very, very safe country apart from political and "business" violence and petty pickpockets; and b) political figures don't get shot by coincidence.

This should be an interesting development. Watch for (or more accurately watch-out-for) the western-funded "opposition" media and even Hayrikyan himself using this event to try to take cheap shots against the government and use it to agitate the masses closer to another rebellion.

This may be a good opportunity for the Armenian Police and National Security Service to initiate a thorough investigation of Hayrikyan's activities and his political connections, and expose to the world everything and everyone he was involved with that may have led to him getting shot.

I'm sorry to hear about your family Artashes.

I must respectfully disagree with you about the need for Armenian's to stop "fighting among ourselves". There is always a need for unity and civilized dialogue, but if there is an "Armenian" in the community who is working for turkish and azeri interests, we need to call that person out loudly and aggressively. That is a threat to our national security.

If it is an internal question such as "what's better for our economy? Laissez-faire capitalism or Socialism", or "what should Armenia's position be on the China-Tibet or North Korea-South Korea issue" or "should Armavia be nationalized or sold to foreign investors", or "should Armenia allow unlimited abortions, or should they be banned, or limited to the first trimester of pregnancy and require that the father also consent and the mother be shown sonograms and photos of the developing child before the decision can be made" then civilized debates and arguments are the only acceptable means for progress and the development of ideas. But, as is true in every country, treasonous behavior that puts the continued existence of the country at risk needs to be attacked and destroyed, especially when those ideas are being directed from outside.

Those are just my thoughts on the issue, to help people understand where I'm coming from...

The comments of mine you are referring to had absolutely nothing to do with --- traitors --- .
You have given many examples of the kinds of things that can be talked about in a "civilized" manner , but I ( respectfully ) think you have missed my point .
Anyone can through in the traitor analogy and then assume they have the right to get obnoxious , that's easy . What's hard is being respectful during disagreements and heated discussions .
The swift accusations and name calling when someone doesn't agree with your or Vahram''s point of view is basically what I'm talking about .
Do you think that everyone that disagrees with you is a traitor ? Do you think they are all "J-ews pretending to be philistines ?
I know I'm struggling to make my point here , but ya ,hell ya , I agree -- traitors should be shot .
My point had absolutely nothing to do with traitors .
I find your introduction of traitor talk to be diversion of my point , is it know ok for me to --- assume you are an as$hole traitor trying to split us "real Armenians apart ????? Correct answer is ---HELL NO ---
With all respect my dear ( I mean this ) brother , your post above , to me is nothing more than you justifying your right to be judge and jury .
God damn man , do you really think MHER is a traitor ??? Do you want me to go shoot the mo fo ????
Both you and Vahram have great minds , you remind me of the Armenians I love so dearly .
Both Haykakan and Vrej's concern for Armenia is beyond reproach , yet they disagree . Neither one found any time in their life to call the other a b-tch . Both are REAL Armenians.

                      I don't recall calling anyone a "b*tch".

As for being civil, I presented "Mher" with evidence and he brushed me off and refused to view any of it. Arrogance and ignorance go hand in hand.

These threads are full of enough information for anyone interested to learn enough about the candidates to make their own decisions. A forum member refusing to accept facts or pretending they are not there makes that person a traitor at worst, and an illogical and ignorant person at best who deserves whatever ridicule they get. Calling someone like raffi hovannisian a "nationalist" when it is evident that his interests do not lay with the nation invites a proper response.

That is as far as I care to take this off-topic discussion on this elections thread. You can private message me any criticisms or comments you have about my posts, I'll gladly respond to private messages.
