"Gnome dictator" Iranian Armenians hold protest in front of the Iranian Embassy
Iranian Armenians held a protest today in front of the Iranian Embassy in Armenia. video of the protest The youth with green flags and closed faces are expressing their protest against the results of the Iranian elections and the assaults against citizens. "Where did my vote go?" "We don't want a gnome dictator", screamed protesters in the park near the Iranian Embassy. "I voted for Musavi here at the embassy and he won 1,200 votes. Where did my vote go?" one Iranian young man told "A1+". Let us mention that the protesters were mainly students and had closed their faces to avoid pressure. "The most dangeorus thing is their deportation. They will not only be deported, but also arrested as activists," said an Iranian-Armenian student. Participants of the protest said that they will hold a strike and will stay in front of the embassy as long as it takes for justice to be restored. "We keep in touch with our parents back home and the situation is complicated there too, but we have hope for change," said one female Iranian student.

Re: "Gnome dictator" Iranian Armenians hold protest in front of the Iranian Embassy
The term Iranian-Armenians can be misleading. It's not Armenians in Iran but Iranians in Armenia who are protesting. Looks like the source is A1+ (pro-opposition media outlet in Armenia)

Iranians Continue Yerevan Embassy Protests
![]() 16.06.2009 Elina Chilingarian Several dozen Iranians rallied outside the Iranian embassy in Yerevan for the second day on Tuesday to protest against the official results of Friday’s disputed election that gave victory to the incumbent President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. The protesters, most of them university students, also condemned the deaths of seven fellow Iranian opposition supporters who were shot dead during a massive anti-government demonstration in Tehran on Monday. Organizers said the demonstration was part of worldwide street protests staged by Iranian expatriates supporting Mir Hossein Musavi, the main opposition presidential candidate. The small crowd chanted slogans and held banners accusing the Iranian government of rigging the vote. An Armenian police unit kept it from getting too close to the embassy building. “Between 2,000 and 2,500 of our citizens voted here [in Armenia] and 70-80 percent of them voted for Musavi,” one young man told RFE/RL. “The same happened all over Iran.” In contrast to Monday’s rally, many protesters wore dark sunglasses and medical facemasks. “We want to make sure they don’t recognize us by face,” one of them explained. “Why? Because our state is such that we may get in trouble. And we, the students living here, don’t want to have problems.” ![]() Other protesters claimed that Iranian embassy officials phoned Iranians living in Armenia the previous night and warned them against attending further protests against their government. “But we still decided to come here because young people in Iran have been killed,” said one young woman. Meanwhile, Iran's top legislative body, the Guardian Council, ruled out annulling Friday’s election on Tuesday as Musavi supporters planned to hold another big rally in the capital. According to Reuters news agency, the council said it is only prepared to order a partial recount of votes. Armenia, which maintains close political and economic ties with the Islamic Republic, has recognized the vote results, with President Serzh Sarkisian sending a congratulatory message to Ahmadinejad at the weekend. http://www.azatutyun.am/content/article/1755820.html

Ahmenadinejad is good for Armenia. Political instability will be desastrous for Armenian international politics. |

Re: "Gnome dictator" Iranian Armenians hold protest in front of the Iranian Embassy
It's not about Ahmadinejad. People are sick of this diabolical, horrific, murderous, torturing, stoning, intolerant regime. For thirty years we have been bereft of the most basic rights like that of freedom to choose what to wear, what to eat or drink, what music to listen to, what films to watch, what to read, what to say, to sing, to dance, who to talk to or walk with, etc. Men and women are separated everywhere. It's like a horror science fiction, the most incredibly dictatorial tyranny ever and that in this day and age. Add to that the ten times weaker purchase power compared to the days of the Shah in a huge country that floats on oil and gas among other things.

Keep us posted if you can Valak. This could turn bigger than people realize. Good luck. BTW, I would never back such an oppressive regime…………….even if it appeared to be in the benefit of the Armenian Nation.

Iranians using British software to crash official websites: TV
LONDON (AFP) — A British web designer claimed Tuesday that an application he developed is being used by opponents of recently re-elected President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad to crash official websites in Iran. Ryan Kelly developed the software to automatically refresh websites such as eBay, but told Channel Four News he had received emails from Iranians saying they were using it to bombard official websites with hits, making them crash. The 25-year-old from London said the number of visitors to the site where the programme is available, www.pagereboot.com, has surged in recent days. "Later I got lots of emails from Iranians saying they were using the application to attack government websites and bring them down," he said. Iran's capital Tehran has been rocked by protests for four days since the results of Friday's presidential election were announced, amid complaints of rigging from supporters of Ahmedinejad's main challenger, Mir Hossein Mousavi Kelly had to take his website down because the huge spike in Internet traffic was exceeding his server limits. But after an online appeal for donations to cover the increased costs, he was able to make it available again. "I agree with what they are doing and will keep it up there as long as I can, and as long as the server does not overload," he told Channel Four News. The Internet has played a crucial role in the Iranian election, with reformists using it to mobilise supporters and circumvent their lack of access to state-controlled media in the run up to the vote. http://www.google.com/hostednews/afp...xFgxiqAYK2vLRw

Russia's and Armenian's alliance with Iran may make strategic sense. However neither nation really have any business being in an alliance with such a regime. Seven protesters where killed the other day and Tehran is clearly struggling to maintain order. Religion may well be the optimum of the brainwashed Iranian masses. However the economic deterioration of the country, coupled with it's international isolation. Are such that it's not inconceivable that they will eventually bring down Iran's theocratic regime.

Ok, first of all the Iranian youth are very well educated so you can't say that they are brainwashed. If anyone is brainwashed, take a look at the United States. I would love to see China, Russia and Iran form their own alliance and put an end to the misery the Israeli and the US governments are inflicting on the world.
