Now we have most of Artsakh back. One false move by Georgia and we will again have Javakh. It is a small start but Armenians are not numerous. Armenia/Armenians have not given up. If this is how you feel, you have not been paying attention to the current war with the Azeris.

The war between Karabakh and Azerbaijan was very touch and go at times. In 1992 Shushi/Lachin were taken but then nearly 40% of the land was lost. The stubborn resistance in Karabakh paid off, but there is a great deal of complacency, which is dangerous

It will be a mistake to move into Javakhk even though that is Armenian land. A war with Georgia is the last thing Armenia needs

Sorry to say, but I stand by everything I have said! There is no pride in "survival" (massacres and invasions happened many times before the genocide), or in losing wars! The Ottomans were indeed a small tribe and the Armenians were all over Central, Eastern Anatolia. You google if you want!

First of all I was refering to Turkey and not you personnally, I don't know who you are and this is only the internet. Second of all Turkey got their asses handed to them in the battle of Sartarabad by Armenians and Armenians only........I must admit though, Diarrhea killed more Turkish soldiers than we did. I know Turks just cannot get over how they got humiliated by Armenians who were written off as dead in WWI

This is true. My wife, who was a Turkish citizen and had to attend a Turkish school has said any reference to Armenian victories, states (like Cilicia), etc do not exist in their books.

Also, whether they were foolhardy or not, some Armenians never gave up, they fought against the Turks, Tatars, and Soviets simultaneously in Siunik. And if Armenians were so weak, I suppose the same can be said for Georgians, Azeri/Tatars, Ukrainians, Latvians, etc

They could have done better, you are right. Armenians have a problems with working together (we are too damned stubborn and individualistic for our own good sometimes), following orders, etc.

We wasted time, resources and talent on peaceful pursuits and the malaise of Christianity instead of building an army and fortresses (at the same time, lets not ignore Kingdom of Cilicia which for a time was able to achieve much of this until it could no longer bare the burden of multiple fronts with multiple enemies, the rising tide of islam, intrigue, etc).

The reality, and not just the excuse, is that due to Armenia's location historically; they were going to be repeatedly ravaged. They won some wars but lost many others to invaders. Yet, there is hope. Ever since its independence, despite having the same geographic, historic, and political problems they have always had, Armenia has actually grown in size. Hey! If you tell me to STFU I'm going to tell you to STFU! In 1920 Kemal came close to wiping out Armenia. It was probably one of the worst military disasters in Armenian history. Up to 200,000 Armenian civilians massacred, thousands of soldiers taken prisoner, never to be seen again. Kars, Alexandropol taken, Turks approaching Yerevan...and the only thing that saved the little that was left was Sovietization, not Armenian heroism!

If survival is such a great thing tell that to all the victims!

You can go to hell lampron and embrace with Talaat for all I care. Armenian pride is in survival and the ability to rebuild not in the subjugation of other nations. Turkish pride seems to be focused on conquest, control, and its legacy of brutality. It seems to me the Turks are such reactionary warmongers because losing an empire hurt their fragile pride. They decry empires and colonialism except for their own. They enslaved others to fight their wars. Its almost as if they were created out of the imagination of Tolkien.

The problem was that the Ottomans had already become paranoid that an Armenian state in Anatolia might get created. They were determined to stop any chance of this happening. The Dashnaks might have dropped the idea of wanting a separate state and gone into partnership with the CUP, but genocide preparations were probably already under way by then. And probably any Armenian at the time who was not a wishful thinker and closely followed the CUP newspapers and statements from lower officials, could have concluded that the CUP was not serious about its pact with the Dashnaks

True, it was planned well in advance. The Hunchaks never trusted the CUP and indeed many Armenians, especially in the east did not either which is why Armenian emigration to the US, Europe and South America increased before WWI.

The point of this quote is that there is nothing Turkey can do to us that hasn’t been done before and you must realize by now that Armenians cannot be destroyed, any other nation who would have went through what we did and lived in the area that we did (crossroads of civilizations) would have disappeared a long ago (even Romans didn't last) from the pages of time..........so go ahead Turkey, make your move and make our day or STFU.

BTW, our battle with Turks were lost in occupied Persia long before they reached our highlands....we knew what kind of savages were comming our way but the masses were too great.
