Hayastan never again should become Comunist. Lenin give away our lands, he give away our holy mountain, he give away land that our men have died fore. And he give it all away to our greatest enemy The turks
so comunism doesn't belong in Hayastan or they will give away the rest of our lands

VIVA MAY 1 AND ACP’
01 May, 2007
On May 1, Armenian Communist Party is celebrating International Solidarity Labor Day. Today, Armenian communists and little pioneers directed to the monument to Stepan Shahumyan via Mashtots avenue, Amiryan street, and Republican Square. They were marching under a Soviet music holding Soviet Armenian red flag, 'Viva Armenian Communist Party: people's only hope' and similar posters, and balloons.
As to the participants, about 1000 communist activists from different marzes were here to participate in the meeting.
A group of 60 people headed the march; they were followed by Ruben Tovmasyan, ACP central committee and ACP Young team and other party members. To note, a pioneer called Margar handed Comrade Tovmasyan ' The picture of Lenin Granny on a red flag' to express his love and respect towards ACP. All the participants had red bands on their chests. Others were holding red carnations as a ' red symbol' of Communism.
The passers-by would stop astound for a moment, then smiled them good-bye and remember their green years.
The communists did not lose time and chance to preach and make similar announcements like ' Be with communists and save Armenia!', ' Let's vote for ACP on May 12!' This is how Comrade Tovmasyan commented on the issue,' We did not make use of the advantage. Today everybody speaks about elections. It was very logical to speak about the elections especially today. Once again we wanted to attract our proponents' and members' attention and make them focus on the issue of vital necessity.'
In answer to the question whether ACP would be able to surpass the 5% election barrier in the forthcoming NA elections, Comrade Tovmasyan mentioned,” I do not assume, we are to overcome this barrier. We’ll become the opposition to care for every single stone, every single street, as it was us to create it. It was us to have built all this.”

Lol, Turkey is trying to commit genocide again... how much more proof do we need to show Turkey's poor treatment of Armenians!?Originally posted by ArmSurvival View PostWell we don't at the moment, since we have Russia patrolling our borders for us, and we have a treaty with them in which they will help us incase we are invaded.
But imagine if Armenia didn't have regional powers to back us up... would we really be safe surrounded by states like Turkey and Azerbaijan? During the Karabagh conflict, Turkey put 50,000 of its troops near the Armenian border, and the only thing stopping them from invading was a potential war with Russia.

We presently need protection from Turkey?!Originally posted by ArmSurvival View PostAnd you could argue that if the Bolsheviks didn't make the Russian Empire collapse during WW1, we wouldnt need protection from Turkey in the present day.
Why?

Re: They Say It's Your Birthday: Small crowds gather to remember Soviet Armenia
Its one thing to appreciate Communism and its ideals, and another to praise the Soviet Union. The Soviet Union wasn't a Communist country, it was a traditional empire led by an autocratic figure (if it was a real union, countries would join voluntarily like the EU instead of being attacked and annexed by the Red Army). All other political parties were banned, you couldn't talk about the genocide, doctors get paid the same as janitors, etc. Bolsheviks fought against the same Russian Empire which was helping us fight against the Ottomans, and our country collapsed as a result.
And how much of our land did the Soviets give away to our enemies? Karabagh, Nakhichevan, Kars, Ardahan, etc.
Thats not to say nothing good came from the Soviets. They turned an agrarian society into an industrialized one, repopulated Armenia, protected us from Turkey, and saved those suffering from famine in the early 1920's. However, all the people that Stalin killed through his policies, and all the Armenians lost due to fighting stupid wars for the Soviets is probably a similar number to those who would have died from famine.
And you could argue that if the Bolsheviks didn't make the Russian Empire collapse during WW1, we wouldnt need protection from Turkey in the present day.

The Bolsheviks couldn't have done anything for that, the Russian army was too weak plus the Tzar never cared for us. Had we went to the Russian Empire, he would have settled Western Armenia with loyal Kosacks, this was written in their secret archives that were released after the Revolution.
