It is becoming more and more obvious that Armenian MPs and President Kocharian have no appreciation or understanding of their own constitution, how to amend their constitution or 1st amendment issues like 'prior restraint'.
Prior restraints which this limitation on the right to assemble has a chilling effect on free speech and are wholly unconstitutional.
RIP to the "democratic" republic of Armenia, it officially died on March 1.
I'm assuming it was Mr. Kocharyan's intent to further alienate the RA from its own diaspora, its citizens and the freedom loving members of the international community.
It also appears to be his intent to encourage nations providing aid to the RA based on their embrace of democracy to reduce or cease such aid altogether.
Mr. Kocharyan is appearing to be more and more like the tyrannical thug he allows LTP to be painted as. Heck, they are appearing to be cut from the same cloth.
The RA should be called the Soviet Republic of Armenia.
It is embarrassing and sad. I foresee cheese lines and rationing to follow shortly. Two steps forward, three steps back.
