- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Something is going on with all of the EU countries exposing azerbaijan all at once today. Not only with "azerbaijan laundromat" operation but also everything else they can think of.
Looks like some forces in the EU all had a meeting on toppling the aliyev dynasty.

A French court began hearing a lawsuit by Azerbaijan's government against two French broadcast journalists it accuses of defamation, in a case described by a media watchdog as an attempt by Baku to "export its censorship to France."

Azerbaijan 'operated secret $3bn secret slush fund'

    • BBC
    • From the sectionEurope
Image copyrightREUTERS Image captionThere is evidence that the scheme was linked to President Aliyev, the report says
Azerbaijan's ruling elite operated a secret $2.8bn (£2.2bn) slush fund for two years to pay off European politicians and make luxury purchases, an investigation shows.

The money was allegedly channelled through four UK-based opaque companies.

People said to have been paid include European politicians who adopted a favourable attitude to the government.

There is no suggestion that all the recipients were aware of the original source of the money, it added.

The secret fund, nicknamed the Azerbaijan Laundromat, operated for two years until 2014, according to the investigation, carried out by a consortium of European newspapers and published by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP)..

The origin of the money was unclear, the report said, but there was "ample evidence of its connection to the family of President Ilham Aliyev".

There has been no immediate reaction from Mr Aliyev or Azerbaijan's government.

At the time the scheme allegedly took place, the oil-rich ex-Soviet state was being accused of systematic corruption, vote-rigging and abuses, including the jailing of opposition politicians, human rights activists and journalists.

Much of the money was said to have been paid to lobbyists, journalists, politicians and businessmen.

According to the OCCRP, the scheme seemed to have been successful in, for example, persuading the Parliamentary Assembly of Council of Europe to vote against a report critical of Azerbaijan in 2013.

The 47-member council - not part of the European Union - monitors compliance with the European Convention on Human Rights, and judges in Strasbourg enforce it.

The vote is currently under investigation and a report is expected by the end of the year.

The four opaque companies which the scheme used - two based in England and two in Scotland - have now been dissolved.

One of Europe's leading banks, the Danske Bank from Denmark, processed the payments to those companies via its branch office in Estonia. It admitted not doing enough to spot suspicious transactions.

Other cash funded luxuries, including private education for well-connected Azeri families living abroad, the investigation added.

Time to 'rethink' Turkey relations, says Merkel

    • 1 September 2017
    • BBC
Image copyrightGETTY IMAGES Image captionThe German foreign ministry says Turkey is holding 12 Germans on political grounds
German chancellor Angela Merkel says it may be time to rethink relations with Turkey, after two more German citizens were detained there.

The German foreign ministry says they were arrested in the southern resort of Antalya on Thursday.

They say Turkey is now holding 12 Germans on what it calls political grounds.

A ministry spokesperson said diplomats had not been able to contact Turkey, who are yet to comment on the arrests.

Chancellor Merkel said that, in most cases, the detentions had "no legal basis" and added that her government would "perhaps have to rethink" its policies towards Turkey.

Germany warns citizens of Turkey risks amid arrests

Relations between the two countries have deteriorated since Turkey arrested a Turkish-German journalist in February.

In July, the German foreign ministry warned its citizens that they faced arbitrary arrest in Turkey under the state of emergency imposed there after a failed coup last year.

Turkey reacted angrily, saying Germany had a "one-sided, distorted approach" that was "unacceptable".

Turkish President Recep Erdogan launched a huge purge of state institutions after rogue military officers tried to oust him a year ago.

More than 50,000 people have been arrested since then, including more than 170 journalists and many opposition politicians, academics and activists.

Chancellor Merkel said the detentions called for a decisive reaction, and that it was inappropriate to continue talks about expanding the limited customs agreement that Turkey has shared with the European Union since 1995.

The deal currently excludes services, public procurement contracts and farm produce.

Hezbollah: US-Led Coalition still blocking ISIL convoy heading to Deir Ezzor

    By News Desk

    03/09/2017

Hezbollah says that US-led coalition is still blocking and threatening to bomb a convoy of ISIL militants and their families being evacuated into Syria’s Deir Ezzor.

In a statement released by the party’s Media Relations Office, Hezbollah said: “Up to this moment, US-led warplanes are still blocking buses carrying ISIL militants and their families, who left the Syrian government-held territories.”

“The US-led warplanes are besieging the convoy in the heart of the desert, and preventing any aid of the convoy which include sick and wounded people as well as elders,” the statement said, warning that “if this situation continues, the imminent death will be the fate” of these families, including pregnant women.

Hezbollah in this context stressed that it has, along with the Syrian government, fulfilled the pledge of leaving the convoy and not attacking the buses in the government-held territories, noting that there are still six buses which did not left the area held by the Syrian government, and that these buses are under Hezbollah’s and Syrian government’s protection.

On the other hand, the statement said that the real aim of the US-Led coalition from blocking the convoy is not to confront ISIL, arguing that if this pretext was the real reason behind besieging the convoy, the alliance would have not supported more than 1,000 ISIL militants to flee Iraq’s Tal Afar and resort to Kurdish area in the north of Iraq.

“The US goal of blocking the convoy has no relation with confronting ISIL,” the statement said.

Meanwhile, Hezbollah warned of “horrible massacre” if the US-led coalition targets the convoy, calling on the international community to bear its responsibility regarding this issue.

BREAKING: Elite Syrian forces just 18 km away from Deir Ezzor city

    By Andrew Illingworth

    03/09/2017

BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:50 P.M.) – The elite Tiger Forces of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA), driving towards Deir Ezzor, have come to within less than twenty kilometers of the besieged city after another major advance in the past 12 hours.

Today, the Tiger Forces, striking southeast of their positions on Bishri mountain chain, secured a vast desert space within which a number of small unnamed hills were also taken possession of.

Specifically, this most recent advance now puts vanguard units of the Syrian Army just 18 kilometers away from besieged army forces within Deir Ezzor city.

Sources are saying that today alone, more advances will likely be reported by military authorities and that, overall, the lifting of the siege of Deir Ezzor, expected by October (even according to the estimates of Tiger Forces commanders), will now come much sooner.

Final showdown against ISIL set in Deir Ezzor: map

    By Leith Fadel

BEIRUT, LEBANON (4:05 A.M.) – The mother of all battles against Islamic State (ISIL) is approaching, as several units from the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Hashd Al-Sha’abi (Iraqi paramilitary) advance on the terrorist group’s Levantine capital in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.

With help from the Russian Air Force, the Syrian Arab Army and their allies have liberated several kilometers of desert terrain over a short period in both the Homs and Deir Ezzor governorates.

As a result of this advance, the Syrian Armed Forces and their allies have positions themselves within 16 km of Al-Shoula, which is the last major town located directly west of the Deir Ezzor Governorate’s provincial capital.

Once Al-Shoula is liberated, the Syrian Arab Army will be within 25 km of Deir Ezzor City, marking the first time in years that their forces would be in full control of the Sukhnah-Deir Ezzor Highway.

While lifting the siege on the provincial capital will be an uplifting achievement, it will take a long time before the Syrian Arab Army and their allies can take control of Deir Ezzor City, let alone the terrorist group’s strongholds of Al-Mayadeen and Albukamal.

In the coming weeks, the battle for Deir Ezzor should reach a critical juncture, as both parties engage in some of the most intense fighting we will see this year.
