    Re: Armenia in the EU

Էլիա, a lot of people in the beginning think the Turks that show up here can be "talked to" ... but after a few years (for some it becomes clear sooner and for some later), it eventually becomes clear that pretty much all of the ones that search and join "Armenian" forums are 100% useless. Don't worry about the Turks ... and also don't worry about those who are really bitter about the Turks ... either attitude is not really healthy in my opinion. Let the moderators deal with the situation(s) as they see fit.

The "smart" Turks tend to figure out on their own that first they need to solve their own problems before trying to initiate dialog with Armenians. So they tend not to waste their time here (if there are any such people)

Why do they try to discuss historacal facts .
I mentioned the struggle to control the population of rats because it is a very costly operation in (old) cities like Paris or New York and specialists admit that it is impossible to totally eradicate them, push them away from the city or reduce their number below certain levels. I think that the situation is a bit similar.

We all agree that they are absolutely of NO value to the forum - from a cultural, intellectual, moral and human point of views - and their presence is, at best, undesirable; however, what can be done?

As you already know, different members deal with the situation differently; the following vaguely summarizes my ideas - may need to be further developed and refined
1- One cannot expect the Moderators and Admins to constantly police the threads to delete posts and/or close threads whenever a jurk actively denies the Armenian Genocide or becomes a nuisance.
First of all, it may create an undesirable tension and confusion on the forum; second of all, it may drain all their energy when Mods and Admins have more important activities; and, most of all, they - sooner or later - come back.
2- They cannot be totally ignored and left to themselves because AC has a certain visibility and presence in Google searches and, if not addressed, their views may start having some influence in the Opinion Space that is the Web
3- It is not a good idea to be too frustrated and/or upset by their presence because that is probably their ultimate goal. Also, such a frustration will have a negative impact on a member's positive input or participation
4- It is not a good idea to constantly "fight" back. First of all, it may drain all/most of the time and energy of the poster - or the entire forum. Second of all, they are a bunch of intellectually inapt individuals who get confused and eventually confuse the discussion: it's pointless.
5- It is not a good idea to be too friendly with them - as some are - because they are too simple minded and may genuinely think that we/some actually appreciate their "input" and may decide to stay and multiply. In case you did not notice it, at times, they express themselves as if essential members of the forum - when they're not even considered as desirable or welcome members. Yes, it is as sad as laughable.
6- It is a good idea to focus on other threads/subjects as much as possible and allocate as little energy as possible to them. Unfortunately, some systematically post in threads they initiate.
On occasions, ridicule them and their opinions avoiding any serious discussion - because that is an impossible venture and a total waste of time and energy.

    Maybe more later!

Still clueless??? In my previous reply, I said that you seem to be clueless; LOL from your reply above, I can tell that you are clueless.
Why would I hide anything from Tanistlin? Why would I even consider him, his sensibilities or...? With all honesty and sincerity, I have far more respect to the existence of a spider - or a lost insect - that may, occasionally, visit my apartment, than someone of his kind.

In any case, what made you think that he would have understood it if it was in English??? Was it the pertinence of his replies or the brightness of his arguments?

Your goal is to convince them of the truth? Maybe you enjoy wasting your time but, please, keep in mind that some of us value our time. If you want to befriend them - not a figure of speech, it is your choice but, please, keep in mind that "yeres dalov," you are encouraging them to stay and multiply.

Most of all, why are you discussing it in Armenian? What's this "instinct" of being "sousig-pousig?" "Slave mentality" or are you afraid of how your jurkish "buddies" will react? Maybe, concerned with their "feelings" and "sensitivities?" Stand tall and remember that this is an Armenian forum and *urks have to learn to appreciate our hospitality and respect certain limits. If we all behaved as if they were the hosts then they would rapidly multiply and invade the forum.

For the record, I did not assume or suggest that your reply was - or was not - a joke; what gave you that idea? Anyway, what was said applies regardless.

Note: I have chosen to auto censor the words "*urk," "*urkish" or *urkic" because it is commonly perceived as unpleasant and offending, evokes unpleasant emotions and imagery and is pregnant with immoral and evil connotations

If it helps, consider them as jerks that you can occasionally ridicule or annoying flies.

Unfortunately, some seem to think that rats can be cute as pets and befriend them, forgetting that such an attitude can only create favorable conditions for their multiplication.

Dzour nsdink, shidag khosing but I think that, unfortunately, you are becoming as clueless and "perceptive?????" as your Jurkish buddies. It may benefit you if you spent more time contemplating than (immediately) reacting - i.e. replying.
