Bulgaria has lost a great musician and composer; Villy Kazasyan passed away at the age of 74.

Hundreds of people, including artists, politicians, and intellectuals accompanied Villy Kazasyan to his final resting place. The great musician and artist of Armenian origin passed away on July 12 at the age of 74. Villy was the bandmaster of the Big Band of Bulgaria's National Radio for over 35 years.
Maestro Villy Kazasyan was the author of many unforgettable tunes that a couple of generations have been brought up with. He was also the key factor around the formation and holding of a number of Bulgarian music festivals during the past 40 years, among which the "Golden Orpheus" international festival and the "Melody of the Year" national musical competition. The discoverer of many talents of the Bulgarian pop music made his last appearance on the music scene as one of the jury members of this year's Music Idol.
