And even though it is a simplification of the original spelling system, I personally prefer it. It's cleaner and more consistent. After all, that is why it was done, not some sort of conspiracy against the classic style but in the Soviet style of making everything more efficient.

Having said that, if Armenians try to standardize the language system, I concede that for the sake of cultural purity and legacy, the classic style is probably a better choice, even though just cause it's classic it's not necessarily the best.
    Thanks, Karoaper.
I agree that in some ways the new orthography is 'cleaner and more consistent', but i prefer the old way of writing the endings to certain words such as արեւելեան instead of արեվելյան, արեւմտեան instead of արեվմտյան and միացեալ instead of միացյալ. I think it better reflects the correct pronunciation.

So in Armenia, is Jesus now written as Հիսուս or is it still Յիսուս? Sorry to be a pain, just confused!

Actually there is no particular rule to know where you should put Յ/յ where Հ/ հ . You just have to memorize...

    Also:
In Iran իւն = in Armenia յուն Ex: գրականութիւն = գրականություն

    Or:
In Iran եան= in Armenia յան Ex: Մանուկեան = Մանուկյան
there are some other differences as well such as -e- and -o- and vo...
in Armenia -vo- is used almost everywhere instead of -o-...

The differences in grammar and spelling that Lucin has pointed out are the differences between Mesrobian Armenian grammar and the modern era grammar in Armenia which was altered, or simplified, by Soviet authorities. The Iranian-Armenian community maintains the best form of Armenian today. They have preserved the old Mesrobian character of the language, which Armenians in Armenia have lost, while preserving the correct pronunciations, which Western Armenians have lost.

I just wish they did not chew or sing every word they speak...

Yes, Persian Armenians write as կեանք.

As for կապոյտ, the story is different. It's ոյ (uy) and not յ alone, so it is considered one unique sound and it's the same for both of us in Iran and Armenia.

The "h@" sound in Armenia is exclusively taken care of by the letter Հ/հ. I can't remember the words where the Iranian system uses Յ/յ for the "h@" sound. Lucin jan can you remind me.
