I wonder if anyone can help me with this query? I realise that modern Western Armenian was developed from the Bolis dialect round about the beginning of the 19th Century; but does anyone know whether the Armenian spoken in everyday life in Van at around the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th Century sounded like Western Armenian or was it more similar to Eastern (particularly in terms of consonant pronunciation)? Hope someone can help.
