ON WOMEN

When it comes to their appearance –
make-up, hairdo, wardrobe, and body-language –
our women in the Homeland can compete
with the very best in Paris, New York, and Hollywood.
By contrast our cops and politicians
are so hideously hidebound that
they might as well be Neanderthal.

The most frequently leveled criticism against me is that
I write of problems but fail to provide solutions.
The solution to this problem is an obvious one:
more women in politics.

We owe our survival less to pigs
and more to our women.
Which is another reason why
they should play a more important role
in our collective existence?
