    Re: Fools

Ever since the Romans crucified an innocent Jew with the connivance of the Jewish authorities, the Middle East has become a vipers' nest of unsettled scores and tribal conflicts. No matter what one does or doesn't do there, one is bound to make more enemies than friends.

      Re: Fools

Two Jewish merchants meet on a road somewhere in Russia at the turn of the last century: "Where are you going?" one of them wants to know."To Minsk," the other replies."Minsk, you say, so that I will think you are going to Pinsk, but you see, I happen to know you are going to Minsk. Why must you always lie to me?"#

              Re: Fools

On a number of occasions I have been asked by Turkish friends: “If we tried to exterminate Armenians, how come there are so many of you around the world?”
To which I can only say: millions of Jews are alive today all over the world as well as in Israel. Does that mean the Holocaust is a lie?

Where riffraff are allowed to hijack the word
“patriotism,” love of country becomes hatred of
                  fellow countrymen.

                    CONFESSION

                    ************************************************** *******
When I went into this business
thought my readers would like to be analyzed.
(After all, Hollywood stars sometimes spend
countless hours and millions of dollars on shrinks.)
                    I was wrong.
I know now that what my readers want more than anything else
is to be flattered and loved.
That's because they are not lovable and they know it.
To them literature should be a feel-good enterprise
                    and writers brown-nosers.

                    Khachaturian, Saroyan, Mikoyan.
And let's not forget Krikor Ipekian, Yeghisapet Terzakian, and Hagop Palanjian (Gregory Peck, Elizabeth Taylor, and Jack Palance).
They can never have enough of these names.
They are repeated over and over again like mantras.
They represent success and everything else that is good in life. As a child I too was brought up to be proud of them.
I was led to believe, if they can make it, so can I.
Well, they were wrong and I was wrong too.
                    I didn't make it.
                    I speak as a failure.
You may now ignore everything I have said so far
and go to bed with an easy conscience.
                    Mamoulian, Aznavour, Cher.
