Re: A new fresh arrangement for hayr mer

My Christian conscious wants me to apologize for my previous comment and say - if singing the Հայր Մեր like a bunch of dingbats works in helping maintain within these young people an Armenian-Christian identity then all the power to them...

But I still would not want to hear this tastelessness in Church.

While we are on the topic of Armenian spiritual music, the following three gems are by far my favorites:

    Ur Es Mayr Im: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gk0buDhyGSE

    Ter Voghormya: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXiP-vEPEJQ

    Aravod Luso: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rtKfp9syqtQ

    LMAO, that was so bad.

Can't these people just leave well enough alone?

    I highly doubt this.

Lol, no. They could've done much worse to it.

It's not blasphemous, it just emphasizes the musical side of the prayer song and de-emphasizes it practical purpose as a pure chant/prayer.

As far as the casual listener outside of a church setting is concerned, there is no problem.
