Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

  • I have a question for the members...

Since 2006, I have created and managed several blogs. I have written several articles for these blogs, ranging from education to cinema. Nearly a year ago, I began a very personal blog titled "A Career In Progress" where I began to document my career, from school to graduation to actually finding a job. I think it's a good way for me, and others, to see what it really takes to reach your goals. Whether it's an education in film or becoming President of this country, we all come across obstacles and problems, and try to reach the top. My blog tries to explain each step, what I'm doing in life, and my journey to finding a career in film.

I began e-mailing "A Career In Progress" to some of my friends and family. Now, I would like to see how many of you would like to receive an e-mail everytime I update my new blog.

First, let me tell you what kind of blog we're dealing with. It's currently titled "Cinematic Adoration" and it's purpose is fairly simple. Because I am lucky enough to attend early screenings, promotional screenings, discussion panels and world premieres for certain films, I decided to create a blog and brag. Well, no, not brag. I thought it would be a good idea to reveal some of my early reviews for these films and give insight to what's going on.

As always, this isn't for you guys, it's for me. I'd like to keep these articles and document them, and since I'm going to do that anyway, I thought I'd be interesting for you guys to see them as well. However, the question is, are you interested? Do you want to receive an e-mail everytime I make an update? Here's what you can expect:

    1) I might make an update to the blog as much as three or four times a week or as little as once a week. It all depends on how busy my schedule is. If I'm not invited anywhere, for the entire month, you can expect no e-mails.

    2) By reading my blog, you will read early reviews of films that have not yet been released. For these films, I will not post any spoilers, so don't worry, I won't ruin the film. I will always give a brief synopsis of the film and discuss my thoughts. They may range from several short paragraphs to a page or two.

    3) By reading my blog, you will also read anything film related. I may write about a recently attended panel discussion or talk about my trip to a film studio. I might also discuss a film that is being released sometime in the future. If you're interested about upcoming films - and I mean good films, not Scary Movie 13 - interesting films with interesting people - you might find the article to be, well, interesting.

    4) In the future, possibly in 2055, when the blog is run by robots, we will have contributing writers. What does this mean? Well, it means I might not be the only one reviewing films or writing articles. It means somebody else might write an article or a review for my blog.

    5) I promise I'm not selling you anything. You don't have to pay to receive these e-mails. All I ask is, if what you're reading is interesting or you think it may interest somebody you know, please tell them about it. Let them decide if they want to receive updates as well.

I think that's all I had to say. If you got through this much of the banter, you can probably survive the blog. Also, keep in mind, if you know anybody who might be interested - your brother, your cousin, your uncle, your friend - let them know. If they are, all I need is an e-mail to add them to the mailing list.

If you hoenstly don't care for the blog, don't worry, I won't kill you. I just don't want to e-mail you every so often and annoy you. Oh, by the way, the blog should begin fairly soon. I don't know when but it should be happening within the upcoming month.

If you are interested, please PM me your e-mail. Do not post your e-mail in this thread or else the spam monsters will get you!
