Are Azeris Turkish or Iranian?

Studies have shown that the Azeris of Azerbaijan are genetically closer to Armenians and the Azeris of Iran are closer to Persians.....none of them are Turks like they tend to believe.
Their language was Turkified but not their culture?

Anyway I see many Azeris argue within themselves about this confusion of their identity.

I have also heard they are Albenians. lol
