Re: Outdoor Sports (hunting, fishing...)
There is a new technology making its presense felt in the world of fishing and in many other areas including biking and aviation. Companies have started manufacturing more carbon based broducts which are extremly lite and pretty strong at the same time. Lance Armstrong won his races driving a shimano bike made of carbon and now shimano has incorporated that same technology into fishing reels and bass proshop has made fishing rods with this new material. I bought the rod and it really does feel like your holding a piece of paper but it really is quite strong to. I plan on getting the shimano reel and pairing it up with my rod which will allow me to cast lures all day long without tiring out. Technology is a wonderful thing.

Re: Outdoor Sports (hunting, fishing...)
I'd probably enjoy living in Northern California, but nope. I'm in Montreal, Quebec. Thanks for the offer though, if ever I visit LA or something, I'll try to meet the lot of you there.

Re: Outdoor Sports (hunting, fishing...)
This warm weather it looks like will put an end to this icefishing season. It was the best season yet for me and i shared it with many friends. The highlight had to be my last trip which was great in every way (including having pizza delivered on to the ice). Soon it will be time to chase the big fish on open water and if anyone here likes fishing please stop by and i will be happy to take you along. Cant wait to hook up my boat to my new truck.

Re: Outdoor Sports (hunting, fishing...)
Another great day on the ice today. The weather was beutiful and sunny, it actualy got hot and we had to take some of our gear off to stay cool. I had two of my armenian buddies with me and some guys from work joined us later. We started out fishing the near shore and the scenery was great with the sun shining and the glare bouncing off the fresh snow. There was almost two feet of ice and i was sure glad i had invested in a electric auger this winter. The fishing was spotty at first but the bussy woodpecker kept us company with his relentless pecking. We moved around and caught lots of dinks (small bluegills) until we found a spot on the opposit shore where we caught some very nice ones and we had a hooting owl keeping us company on that side of the lake. One of my armenian buddies was going on and on about how a flasher doesnt really help but i outfished him 15/1 using my flasher so he got real quiet lol. We caught some nice fish and the guy from work caught a big pike. It was a beutifull day and we got hungry from all the action and moving around plus draging our gear all over. The guys were hungry so i thought hell why not lets order pizza! We had it delivered to the lake and it was so cool, i had never done that before. Levon caught a cisco and i didn't even know we had ciscos in this lake. There was a guy with a four wheeler draging his son around on a sled all day there. Winters like these make wonderful memories and i feel lucky that i have learned to enjoy the long cold winters here in Michigan.

Re: Outdoor Sports (hunting, fishing...)
Had a big fishfry yesterday using the fish i had caught. They are very tasty and you dont find fish like bluegills in stores. We also had walleyes, perch and crappies. Once the ice melts next month it will be time for trout/steeelhead then walleyes then silverbass and white perch. Lots fun to catch and very tasty eats.
