What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

  • September 30 NCAAF Preview

    Saturday, Sept.30
    USC at Washington State
QB John David Booty and the USC Trojans roll into Martin Stadium on Saturday. Sept. 30 to face the Washington State Cougars. Booty has been very productive in his early starts as starting QB, and wide receivers Steve Smith and Dwayne Jarrett are the best 1-2 duo in the country. Washington State was thrashed 55-13 last season in the Coliseum, and hopes to fair better in this matchup at home. The defense returns eight starters from last year’s squad, and it hopes to slow down USC’s wide-open offensive attack. USC is projected by many college football bettors to win the Pac-10 title once again, and the Trojans will be sportsbook favorites in this game.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Alabama at Florida
Chris Leak and the Florida Gators welcome the Alabama Crimson Tide into the Swamp on Saturday, Sept. 30 with one thing on their minds - revenge. The Tide rolled the Gators 31-3 last season, completely dominating the Gators on both sides of the ball. Leak is growing more and more confident in head coach Urban Meyer’s complex offensive system, and his early season statistics show it. If Florida is able to overcome a young offensive line and an inexperienced secondary, many sportsbooks favor the Gators winning the SEC East division and possibly challenging for a national championship. The Swamp is perhaps the toughest place to play in college football, and the Gators will be college football betting favorites at home.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Georgia at Mississippi

Head coach Mark Richt and the Georgia Bulldogs travel to Vaught-Hemingway Stadium to play the Mississippi Rebels in an SEC tilt. Bulldog QBs Joe Tereshinski and freshman Matt Stafford have been battling all season for the starting QB job, with many Bulldog fans siding with the rocket-armed Stafford, who is expected to hang onto the job for a while with Tereshinski injured. However, with three new offensive lineman in front of him, asking Stafford to lead the Bulldogs through the SEC might be too much to ask. Mississippi finished 3-8 last season, and is projected by many sportsbooks to finish near the bottom of the SEC West Division. Georgia will be solid college football betting favorites over the Rebels in this game.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Georgia Tech at Virginia Tech

The Battle of the Techs will take place on Saturday, Sept. 30 as Georgia Tech travels to Blacksburg to face Virginia Tech. The Yellow Jackets pushed Notre Dame to the limit in their first game of the season, giving their fans hope they can avoid repeating last year’s performance against the Hokies, which they lost 51-7. Virginia Tech returns 5 starters from the top-ranked defense in all of college football, but the Hokies are faced with finding a consistent starting QB to replace Marcus Vick. Many sportsbooks predict Va. Tech will challenge for the ACC title once again, and the Hokies will be college football betting favorites in this matchup.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Oregon at Arizona State

The Oregon Ducks travel to Tempe to face Pac-10 foe Arizona State on Saturday, Sept. 30. Arizona State went 7-5 last season and was involved in a bunch of high-scoring shootouts, as their offense was ranked #2 in the nation while their defense was ranked 114th. With eight returning starters on offense and only four on defense, many college football betting fans are predicting a similar finish for Arizona State this year. Oregon appears primed to challenge USC for the Pac-10 championship after going 10-2 last season, and the Ducks should be slight sportsbook favorites in this game.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    California at Oregon State

Head coach Mike Riley and the Oregon State Beavers welcome the Cal Golden Bears into Reser Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 30. Oregon State’s offense ranked #10 in the country in passing offense and 34th in total offense, and with eight returning offensive starters, many college football betting fans have high hopes for the Beavers, who have struggled thus far. Cal also returns a very productive offensive unit in 2006, with seven starters coming back from a squad that ranked 26th in total offense. However, Cal lost three offensive lineman to the NFL draft, and that could pose some problems for the Golden Bears. Oregon State was able to pull the upset last season 23-20, but look for the Golden Bears to be sportsbook favorites in this matchup.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Boise State at Utah

Two high-flying offenses will collide at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, Sept. 30 when the University of Utah welcomes the Boise State Broncos. Utes head coach Kyle Whittingham has maintained the offensive scheme installed by former coach Urban Meyer, and it produced 30 points and 473 yards of offense per game. Boise State has its own offensive juggernaut, as it returns eight starters from a unit that averaged 36 points and 463 yards per contest. If you’re looking to wager on the over/under odds for a particular game, look no further than this game. Utah will be the sportsbook favorites at home, but college football bettors shouldn't be surprised if the Broncos pull the upset.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Texas Tech at Texas A&M

A Texas intra-state battle will take place on Saturday Sept. 30 as the Texas Tech Red Raiders travel to College Station to face the Texas A&M Aggies. Texas Tech led the nation in scoring average in 2005, putting up 39 points per game, and the Red Raider offense doesn’t look like it will be slowing down any time soon. Texas A&M suffered through a 5-6 season in 2005, and most sportsbooks predict a similar finish for the Aggies this season. In what could be a good old fashioned Texas shootout, look for the Red Raiders to be sportsbook favorites on the road.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Ohio State at Iowa

The Ohio State Buckeyes will face a stiff challenge as they travel to Kinnick Stadium to play the Iowa Hawkeyes. The Buckeyes were many betting preseason favorites to win the national championship, and they cemented their position at #1 in the polls after dismantling then-ranked #2 Texas 24-7. Iowa’s defense ranked only 67th in total defense in 2005, and Hawkeye fans are hoping their defense can improve enough to contain Buckeye stars Ted Ginn Jr. and Troy Smith. Ohio State won last year’s matchup easily, 31-6, and will be sportsbook favorites in this matchup.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Michigan at Minnesota

The Michigan Wolverines travel to Minneapolis on Saturday, Sept. 30 to face the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Minnesota upset Michigan at Ann Arbor last season 23-20, and the Wolverines will be out for revenge. Minnesota’s offense ranked 7th in the nation in total offense last season, but will greatly miss RB Laurence Maroney and his 1,464 rushing yards. Michigan QB Chad Henne could face some problems early on, as the Wolverines look to replace three starters on the offensive line and replace WR Jason Avant. Michigan is a trendy pick by many college football bettors to challenge Ohio State for the Big Ten title, especially after routing Notre Dame, and the Maize and Blue will be sportsbook favorites in this game.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Tennessee at Memphis

QB Erik Ainge leads the Tennessee Volunteers into the Liberty Bowl on Saturday, Sept. 30 to battle the Memphis Tigers. Memphis ranked 5th in the country in rushing yards per game (268), but that number will definitely drop this season as RB DeAngelo Williams has graduated. Many college football betting fans are hoping that Ainge can be more consistent in directing the offense and eliminate many of the poor decisions he made last year. Tennessee squeaked out a 20-16 victory last season, but this year’s matchup shouldn’t be that close as Tennessee has improved, with a rout of Cal and a close loss to Florida. Watch for Tennessee to be solid sportsbook favorites over the Tigers.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Northwestern at Penn State

Joe Paterno and the Penn State Nittany Lions host the Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday, Sept. 30. Northwestern is still dealing with the offseason death of head coach Randy Walker, which has obviously affected their mindset and play. Penn State won the Big Ten title last season after an 11-1 season, but only returns nine total starters from that squad. If Penn State is to challenge for another Big Ten championship, the new starters will need to step up the plate and produce right away. Many college football bettors believe Penn State will finish third in the Big Ten, and the Nittany Lions will be solid sportsbook favorites over the Wildcats at home.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Mississippi State at LSU

Head coach Sylvester Croom leads his Mississippi State Bulldogs into Tiger Stadium to face LSU on Saturday, Sept. 30. After last year’s 11-2 record and a 40-3 thrashing of Miami in the Peach Bowl, many sports betting fans have high hopes for LSU this season. Leading rusher Joseph Addai has graduated, which will hurt the Tigers ground game, and three starting defensive lineman need to be replaced. LSU spanked Mississippi State 37-7 last season and nearly beat Auburn in Week 3 this year, so the Tigers will be solid sportsbook favorites in this game.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Washington at Arizona

Tyrone Willingham leads the Washington Huskies into Tucson for a Sept. 30 matchup with the Arizona Wildcats. Arizona returns eight starters on offense and nine starters on defense, and should easily improve on its 3-8 record. Washington also returns a veteran-laden squad, with six offensive starters and eight defensive starters returning for the 2006 campaign. Washington easily handled Arizona 38-14 last season, but it’s a good college football bet that this year’s contest will be closer. Look for the Huskies to be slight sportsbook favorites on the road.

    Saturday, Sept. 30
    Kansas at Nebraska

The Kansas Jayhawks travel to Lincoln to square off with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Saturday, Sept. 30. Kansas’ defense finished 11th in total defense last season, but will be hard-pressed to duplicate that effort as only three starters are returning to that unit. Nebraska finished last season on a high note, defeating Michigan 32-28 in the Alamo Bowl and finishing 24th in the final AP poll. The Cornhuskers whipped Kansas 40-15 last season and should have no trouble in this game. Many college football bettors predict Nebraska will win the Big 12 North division, and the Huskers will be solid sportsbook favorites in this matchup.
