I've never been hurt by love, I just don't like xxxxing conformists that move to whatever tune is being played by popular culture and consumer holidays.

I won't get anyone anything for Valentine's Day. And bedies how many of you dolts really know about St. Valentine anyway?

It's a shame that people actually fall victim to this mindless stunt that is mass marketed to the masses. Those that criticize it get things such as "You're just jealous you don't have a Valentine!" and people feel bad because they don't have a "Valentine", and all because of a fake holiday.

Just another attempt for some one to "prove" their love for someone else by diners, movies, roses, and chocolate.

I love hearing about break ups on Valentine's Day. Make's you value the fact that you aren't bogged down in a materialistic relationship. Playstations never break up with you. Only you can break up with them.

Hehe... About five years ago, I was with a french girl. She was saying exactly what you said in your post, and my opinion was exactly the same. On Valentines day, I didn't phoned her. The next day she reproached me that :D, saying that she was hurt.

What a worthless mindless chicken !
When a girl tell you that, don't believe her.

Some suggestions to write on the card you don't give your non-existant love on Valentine's Day. Hallmark, eat your heart out, make your own card this V-Day...

* love means never having to say "i love you."
* i am so glad i had sex with you immediately.
* i could kiss you, but there's a lot of things i'd rather kiss.
* happy xxxxing thing.

Here's some poetry........

Love may be beautiful, love may be bliss,
I only slept with you because I was pissed.

Roses are red,
Violets are blue,
Sugar is sweet,
And so are you.
But the roses are wilting,
The violets are dead,
The sugar bowl's empty
And so is your head.

I thought that I could love no other,
Until, that is, I met your brother.

Of loving beauty you float with grace,
If only you could hide your face.

I love your smile, your face, and your eyes,
Damn, I'm good at telling lies!

Kind, intelligent, loving and hot,
This describes everything you are not.

I want to feel your sweet embrace,
Please don't take that paper bag off your face.

My love, you take my breath away.
What have you stepped in to smell this way?!

My feelings for you no words can tell.
Except for maybe, "Go to hell!"

What inspired this amorous rhyme?
Two parts vodka, one part lime.

My darling, my lover, my beautiful wife,
Marrying you screwed up my life.

I see your face when I am dreaming,
That's why I always wake up screaming.

Ass being your mascot.

Anyway, the last four years have been tremendous. To blame the fall in the economy on Bush is irresponsible. Consumer shock due to 9/11 caused a drastic decrease in demdand, therefore, supply decreased as well. Also, the business cycle was due for a recession with cycical unemployment.

Bush lowered taxes, and his policy has accounted for the largest growth in GDP since 1984 when Ronald Regan was in office. The past business quarter has experienced a 7.2% increase in GDP, and 500,000 new jobs nationally. With the economy on its way back up, and a firm foreign policy initiative, President Bush has been a very successful President.

It seems you know absolutely nothing of education. For one, you spelled "deficit" wrong.

States have primary control over public education, not the federal government. Sorry, but the cuts for UC schools and k-12 were due to our immediate past governor, Gray Davis. Only 5% of the state's budget augmented for schools is derived from the federal govt. In fact, with his "No Child Left Behind Act" schools that were performing received benefits, and those that werent, didnt really lose anything.

You also mention those that are unemployed. Most of the 8 million people that you mention are unemployed are frictionally unemployed, meaning they are in between jobs. This is common. You will need more precise figures to sway me on the issue. Those who stopped looking for work could not even be counted as unemployed, as they are no longer part of the work force. The only people who are considered as being unemployed are those who are 1. Not currently employed and 2. Looking for employment. If they are not looking for employement, they are not counted in the stats as they do not desire employment and therefore are not counted. You really need to brush up on your economics. This is basic macro econ.

The fourth quarter always creates employment, however it does not always produce such a high increase in GDP which you neglected to touch upon. Economists are still perplexed to the unprecedented increase in worker productivity. This means the nation is becoming wealthier. Also, we did get some tax returns. I got $9.00 back.

Yes, Iraq was successful. Saddam, an evil saddistic dictator was removed from his totalitarian regime to give the freedom loving people of Iraq a chance at self governance. Bush did try to internationalize the effort, however, at the beginning of the conflict with Iraq (It was never formally declared war) countries and the UN did not assist the US in their pursuit for a better and safer Iraq. It was those he seeked that turned him down. Now, when it is all over, everyone wants a piece and say in Iraq. Let the U.S. do the dirty work I suppose!

I have plenty to say about Senator Kerry, but that will be for a later thread. Here is an article piece you should read.

"Reports by the US Senate's committee on banking, housing and urban affairs -- which oversees American exports policy -- reveal that the US, under the successive administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush Snr, sold materials including anthrax, VX nerve gas, West Nile fever germs and botulism to Iraq right up until March 1992, as well as germs similar to tuberculosis and pneumonia. Other bacteria sold included brucella melitensis, which damages major organs, and clostridium perfringens, which causes gas gangrene.

Classified US Defence Dep-artment documents also seen by the Sunday Herald show that Britain sold Iraq the drug pralidoxine, an antidote to nerve gas, in March 1992, after the end of the Gulf war. Pralidoxine can be reverse engineered to create nerve gas.

The Senate committee's rep orts on 'US Chemical and Biological Warfare-Related Dual-Use Exports to Iraq', undertaken in 1992 in the wake of the Gulf war, give the date and destination of all US exports. The reports show, for example, that on May 2, 1986, two batches of bacillus anthracis -- the micro-organism that causes anthrax -- were shipped to the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education, along with two batches of the bacterium clostridium botulinum, the agent that causes deadly botulism poisoning.

One batch each of salmonella and E coli were shipped to the Iraqi State Company for Drug Industries on August 31, 1987. Other shipments went from the US to the Iraq Atomic Energy Commission on July 11, 1988; the Department of Biology at the University of Basrah in November 1989; the Department of Microbiology at Baghdad University in June 1985; the Ministry of Health in April 1985 and Officers' City, a military complex in Baghdad, in March and April 1986."

http://www.rense.com/general32/we.htm

"We will act peacefully towards Iraq, however, if we must use force then their message is clear. Iraq will be willing to use their weapons of mass destruction." --Bill Clinton February 1998 Senate Report.

Are the Dems lying too?

They therefore have the means of producing WMD's.

Senate Reports dont lie. Only you do.

:D

If you're really nice and have money to burn you can get him tickets to the NBA All Star Game on Feb. 15 There are still 2 behind the basket seats available and its only about $1,875. Not too shabby. There is also this 18 person suite available for about 32 grand. Ok, enough advertising. If he is a basketball fan, he'll love you forever, or at least until the next all-star game. :D hehe

WOW, a thread about Valentines day leads to a political dicussion. So far all the threads i've read with Surfer in them has some political discussion in it, anyone else notice that??????

I get to have the big, Valentines extravaganza, although i don't want it from the guy thats going to give it. I've never had a Valentine, i always spent this day either at home or out getting drunk/high. Now I have to deal with Valentines day sober. I don't like this day, or any other holliday the only part I enjoy is the fact that we get to miss work and school, some hollidays.

Okay, those few posts were kind of weird. Yesterday, my friend asked what she should get her b/f for Valentine's and I didn't have an answer. Then she mentioned b-ball tickets. I'd muuuuuch rather have tickets to a regular season Laker game than the All-Star game though.
