Should Tobacco companies be allowedd to run in Armenia?

They bring profit and taxes

but

cause cancer for generations of smokers and victims of passive smoking

Taxes exist because of govt and the State, not because of business.

You should know this, a progressive income tax is one of the plancks of Communism.

Eh, an agressive anti-smoking campaign should be put in place in Armenia, as there are quite a few bothersome cases of children who are way too young to smoke who have picked up the habit.

But since cigarettes will be sold anyways, why import them?

isnt that an argument for a planned economy who democratically chooses what should/shouldnt be imported?

Like Baron said cigarrettes are going to be imported anyway so why not let the companies like Cigarone produce in Armenia and even export.

By the way all of Europe smokes a lot more than the US and as far as i know they live a lot longer and more enjoyable lives then than these tofu eating and also mcdonalds eating freaks here in the US.

if it was a democraticlally controlled economy, cigarettes wouldnt be imported, and those for personal consumption would be very minute.

At the same time, there would be massive state encouragement to quit smoking with help and so on. At the same time workers would choose to have education programme which has very strong anti-smoking core. This would be done as its in workers interests
