TBILISI--Based on preliminary results from Thursday's parliamentary elections in Georgia, three Armenians were elected to the parliament.
Van Baybourtian, a former parliament member, told RFE/RL that the Armenian constituency actively took part in the elections in all regions of Georgia with more than 81 percent of the electorate participating in Ninodzminde. Large voter turnout was also registered in the Armenian-populated regions of Akhalkalak and Akhaltkha.
According to results available to Baybourtian, Henzel Mkoyan was elected from the Ninodzmide region, Harutiun Hovannesyan from Akhalkalak and from the United National Movement party list Armen Bayandouryan from Tbilisi.
