A play on words--or more correctly numbers. Today we kick off a campaign to mark Asbarez newspaper's 100th anniversary. We are reaching out to you, our readers, advertisers, community members and organizations, and asking you to become engaged in this historic occasion by donating a symbolic $100 for our 100th birthday.
Beginning this week, our staff, colleagues and contributors, as well as our ambassadors outside of the Los Angeles area will be circulating the community to secure these contributions from you, helping us to reach our goal of $100,000 by August 14, 2008--the 100th anniversary of the first issue of Asbarez.
We consider each reader as a colleague and an ambassador and we are counting on you to encourage your circle of family and friends to become part of this exciting time. In a community that numbers in the hundreds of thousands our goals of touching 1000 people during the course of the next several weeks should create excitement for all to become part of history--not just of the newspaper but of the growing and developing Armenian-American community.
We will be publishing an anniversary issue on that day and will publish the names of each and every donor in that publication.
So let the campaign begin and may 100 for 100 become an impetus for all to rally around the newspaper and help us inform you about the important issues of our nation and our community.
The funds generated from this effort will go toward enhancing our publication and providing you better content and better coverage of the news around us.
Please, join us. Become a part of 100 for 100 and call our offices at 818.500.9363. You can also donate online.
