  • Armenians to protest Barack Obama’s visit to Los Angeles

    [ 27 May 2009 13:11 ]

Los Angeles. Zaur Hasanov – APA. US President Barack Obama expected to arrive in Los Angeles on Wednesday. Armenian community will hold demonstration at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where President Obama will stay, to protest the president for non-use of the word “genocide” in his April 24 address.

"We are not here to label the President as a Genocide denier, but rather to raise our voices and our concerns regarding his broken promises," said Arek Santikian, a spokesperson for the Armenian Youth Federation. "We also want the president to realize how disappointed the community is with his ill-advised cut in foreign aid to Armenia."

Armenians are still better off with Obama than McCain. It's better for us to have an American Government that has luke warm support of Azerbaijan, rather than one who has full support (I always said he would not recognize the genocide, untill maybe his last year in office, or second term)

It would have been naive to think that Obama would have kept his promises and done good for Armenia.
