Unfortunately our diplomats are so incompetent that they cannot analyze and read between the lines of the documents they sign.

    FROM TEXT
Reconfirming their commitment, in their bilateral and international relations,
to respect and ensure respect for the principles equality,
sovereignty, non intervention in internal affairs of other states,
    [also]
territorial integrity and inviolability of frontiers,
    END OF TEXT

Remember Armenia has not recognized Karabagh.
The international community recognizes the USSR borders of Azerbaijan.
Therefore the Karabagh issue is an internal affair of Azerbaijan.

    Now re-read the text.

The non inclusion of the word Karabagh was a TRAP.

(incidentally this is not my analysis but of a lawyer commentator.)

Politics is not about the pursuit of morality nor what's right or wrong
Its about self interest at personal and national level often at odds with the above.
Great politicians pursue the National interest and small politicians personal interests

Indeed, this has been said all along, interpretation by anyone, including the president is meaningless. The wording of the signed document has all the ramifications of a ticking bomb. This has been said repeatedly by countless Armenians, and as we can see from the recent statements by the - president, the prime minister and the foreign minister of Turkey - they also understand this quite well and will clearly put these demands forward once these protocols are ratified (which I sincerely hope will never happen) and come into legal force.

The whole document was either INCOMPETENCE or TREACHERY.

The fact that details were kept secret from discussion so late would suggest the latter.

The FM was lying all along including to Parliament.

The President would not heed the warnings given.
        He totally ignored all opposition.

I fear the reason is treachery, which means the same forces will make sure the document is ratified.

There is an unwritten rule/punishment for tavajans.
Sadly our history is full of such situations.

Yet we never seem to run out of such people.

Yes, actually based on what we know now there is plenty of evidence for both.

The fact that details were kept secret from discussion so late would suggest the latter.
          Yes.

          Correct.

The President would not heed the warnings given.
          He totally ignored all opposition.
And only hours away from signing of the protocols in his televised address that was broadcast all over the controlled media would "pretend" to show "concern" for the genuine Armenian voices of reason (more like outcries given the magnitude of what is taking place).

As the saying goes too little too late.

Yes, sadly, as the voices of reason have been ignored, the fear factor has engulfed the ruling circles. The streets in Yerevan are litteraly brimming with discussions of the 60 thousand+ march on the Presidential Palace. The statement issued by the National Front on October 9 stated that the next rally would be even bigger throng and they would demand Sargsyan's resignation if he signs the pro-Turkish protocols. They still left one last chance for him to back away. Many argued that they shouldn't have, but now they will do everything in their power to stop the National Assembly from making a catastrophic mistake.

Absolutely, we have nowhere else to retreat. We have squandered to the Turk virtually all of our once Greater Armenia. This is our Sardarapat and we cannot and will not back down from this life and death battle for the future of our people and our sacred Homeland.

You guys are right, there's so much to worry about I don't know which to focus on more, at this point I'm grasping at straws trying to find one redeemable thing about this protokol (
"All truth passes through three stages:
            First, it is ridiculed;
Second, it is violently opposed; and
Third, it is accepted as self-evident."

It was only a political move/game. Serje is as treacherous traitor as can be.

These are our people.... I just wish that they moved this strongly sooner so he wasn't able to sign it yesterday. But here they are stronger and more determined than ever! Good!

The enemies already left us with a smidjen land from our huge anscestral lands. If we lose this little one, then the turks' wet dreams of pan-turkism will fully materialize. That's what they wanted since Attaturk. But they will not get it. We shall overcome this obstacle too! Serje the traitor must leave his seat!
