Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!


2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

    Armenia is getting ready to become EU associated member. The talks on Armenia’s associate membership to EU will launch from 2010 and will hardly be protracted as European Union does not have particular problems with Armenia, European high ranking diplomat wishing to remain anonymous told NEWS.am.

    EC-Georgia negotiations will also start in 2010. According to him, Georgia has no problems in EC associate membership unlike Azerbaijan that will face certain difficulties, not being World State Organization (WTO) member. However, EU should reach this decision to allow all the three countries to become associate members of European Union simultaneously, the official outlined. The associate membership to EU de facto does not differ from the common membership. “These are two different statuses, however the associate members are granted all the rights and privileges as common ones,” he said.

    The diplomat noted that the peculiarities in different spheres, either legislative or political and economic sectors will be taken into account in the course of talks.

    According to him, democratization issues in South Caucasian countries will be in the limelight, as all the three countries face these problems.

      Of course not, if anything, this gives Armenia almost the same privileges as actual eu members, but we don't fall under their common foreign policy blanket, which is a joke as it is.
      For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
      to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

        It is a step in the right direction………….can you imagine the stink that will arise if Armenia was to become a full EU member where Turkey has been trying for decades to get in?

        If Armenia can get its act together she will humiliate Turkey by becoming a full member. This is where the political front should be while maintaining good relations with Russia and Iran.

          We're Christians. That alone is a big plus for us. Also, we do have history with Europe especially the support of France throughout years.

            Armenia to benefit from associate membership in EU

            The decision on Armenia’s associate membership in the European Union (EU) made by the EU Ministers’ Committee meets Armenia’s interests and is in line with its foreign policy priorities, namely, developing European integration, Naira Zohrabyan Chairwoman of the Committee on European Integration, RA Parliament, told NEWS.am.

            According to her, associate membership in the EU will allow Armenia to draw closer to Europe and intensify cooperation with the EU member-states. Armenia’s associate membership in the EU will enhance the country’s international reputation. “Armenia will reap not only political dividends, such as a simplified visa system, but also economic ones. Armenia’s economy will get integrated with the European economic system, Armenian products will be more competitive… In short, we will be able to form part of the European market,” Zohrabyan said.

            Yesterday the EU Ministers’ Committee made a decision on the South Caucasus states’ associate membership in the EU. A high-ranking European diplomat told NEWS.am that the relevant negotiations are to get under way next year, with special emphasis to be laid on democracy, as all the three states have problems in this field. According to the diplomat, associate membership is hardly different from full membership.

              Europe stood by and watched us to be annihilated by Turkey in 1915. Therefore Europe owes us a great deal, in the form of an apology for the Armenian Genocide; not just Turkey but the world's most powerful nations, BTW; Britain, Germany, Russia, USA and France. They all owe us a great deal. They owe us our lands back and see to it that Turkey give us reparations to Armenians. Therefore ya the acceptance of Armenia in the EU is the least that they can do for Armenia and for Armenians!

                That alone didnt help us much during the genocide and it wont help a whole lot now either. It would be awsome though to become a eu member before turckey lol.

                  That is not how international relations work, never has and never will.

                  There are no friends, just interests. In a blink of an eye an ally can become hostile and an enemy nation become an ally. A nation that isn't able to fight for its own national interests won't get much sympathy from Great Powers.

                  And the eu is far from being a "Christian club"; there is nothing Christian about that organization.

                    I understand it, but I don't agree to it. What Khrimian Hayrig said always comes to mind time and time again, isn't it? "We had paper ladel's that didn't work", and today after we have been enormously minimized thanks to the AG, we aren't powerful or big yet; but in time we shall be! However when it's for the big powers' interests, suddenly they become "democratic" God loving and Christians, bla... bla....

                    I know that the EU regards us as Christians and a civilized nation and that would be the reason to have accepting us if and when they would do it!
