Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

We need like an Armenian Martin Luther King to make a "I have a dream" speech. He'd probably get assassinated though.

A dream about what? Non intra-ethnic violence? That is a dream indeed because it occurs within all ethnic groups and always will.
For the first time in more than 600 years, Armenia is free and independent, and we are therefore obligated
to place our national interests ahead of our personal gains or aspirations.

Nah, the dream that Armenians will wake up one day, recover from their identity crisis and realize they're not african or hispanic

Re: 6 Shot, 4 Killed In North Hollywood Shooting

Police on Friday identified a man who allegedly killed four men and wounded two others in a North Hollywood restaurant last Saturday, while a federal grand jury in a separate investigation indicted the suspect on illegally dealing firearms.

Nerses Arthur Galstyan, 28, of North Hollywood, is accused of opening fire inside the Hot Spot Cafe, a Mediterranean restaurant at 11651 Riverside Dr., as a group of people celebrated a birthday.

Galstyan had been part of the group and fired multiple rounds in anger when he became involved in an argument with several men, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Surveillance video from the restaurant shows that Galstyan was in the restaurant, then left after the shooting, police said.

Police executed search warrants at a North Hollywood home that was Galstyan's previous residence, and a Glendale home on Friday morning, but were unable to find him. He is believed to be in the area, armed and very dangerous, Beck said.

"Yes, this is a dangerous person - extremely dangerous - and I have concerns about my police officers when they make contact with him," Beck said. "But this is not a random act. This is not something that people in the Valley or any other place eating at any other restaurant should have to worry about."

The victims were identified as Harut Baburyan, 28, Sarkis Karadjian, 26, Vardan Tofalyan, 31, and Hayk Yegnanyan, 25.

At least one of the two men who were injured was still in a coma with multiple rounds still in his body, said Deputy Chief Kirk Albanese, head of LAPD's Valley Bureau. He was still in critical care in the intensive care unit, but was expected to recover, Albanese said.

Beck declined to comment on whether others in the group may have returned fire and also on reports that the killings were tied to a 2007 murder of a 24-year-old man whose body was found on Mulholland Drive.

Also on Friday morning, a federal grand jury indicted Galstyan on three counts related to weapons dealing charges filed in February. Prior to October 2009, Galstyan and others sold firearms without a license and he possessed two Spike's Tactical .223 caliber semi-automatic rifles with obliterated serial numbers, according to court documents.

Galstyan allegedly imported, cleaned and prepared the guns to sell, according to an investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. He also allegedly told an informant that he could sell rifles, AK-47s, and 10,000 to 100,000 rounds of ammunition, according to court documents.

If convicted on all three counts, he could face a maximum of 15 years in prison, said Andre Birotte Jr., U.S. Attorney.

Baburyan, one of the victims, had a lengthy criminal record. He was convicted of attempted auto fraud and sentenced to six months in prison in 2007. He was also convicted in 2000 of receiving stolen property and sentenced to 18 days in jail and five years' probation, and then another 16 months in prison for illegal possession of a semi-automatic weapon, in 2006 according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.

Brothers arrested in Wash. for Hollywood killings
The U.S. Marshals Service says it has tracked down two brothers wanted in a quadruple killing at a Los Angeles restaurant.

                The Associated Press
                SEATTLE —
The U.S. Marshals Service says it has tracked down two brothers wanted in a quadruple killing at a Los Angeles restaurant.

Authorities said Wednesday they found Nerses (NER'-sees) and Samuel Galstyan (gal-STEE'-an) on Tuesday night at a home in the north Seattle suburb of Kenmore.

Four men were killed and two injured in the shooting during a memorial celebration at a North Hollywood restaurant April 3.

Los Angeles police previously identified the shooter as Nerses Galstyan. It wasn't immediately clear Wednesday what role his brother may have played, but Marshals Service supervisory deputy Rick Ploof says there were murder warrants out for both of them.

The 28-year-old Nerses Galstyan is an Armenial national who was also wanted on a federal indictment for weapons charges. Most of the victims were also from Armenia.

Re: 6 Shot, 4 Killed In North Hollywood Shooting

Valley Village slaying suspect was fed up with being disrespected, police say
Nerses Galstyan was apparently tired of being made to do menial tasks, LAPD officials say. He has been charged with four counts of capital murder.

A man charged Thursday with a quadruple killing at a Valley Village restaurant allegedly committed the crime because he was fed up with being disrespected by the victims, police said Thursday.

Nerses Arthur Galstyan, 28, and his brother, Samuel Galstyan, 24, were taken into custody Tuesday evening in the Seattle suburb of Kenmore, police said. They were staying at a home, but the owner was unaware that they were wanted in connection with the April 3 slayings, officials said.

Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck said during a news conference outside police headquarters downtown that Nerses Galstyan has been charged with four counts of capital murder and one of mayhem. He is expected to be arraigned on the charges Friday and is being held in lieu of $4-million bail, Beck said.

Prosecutors could seek the death penalty in the case because of the capital murder charges in the case.

The two brothers were among a group of guests attending an afternoon celebration at the Hot Spot Mediterranean Restaurant in honor of a friend who had died in an accident a year earlier, police said. At one point, Nerses Galstyan allegedly began arguing with some of the men and then began shooting.

He was apparently tired of being humiliated and forced to do menial tasks, said Capt. Kevin McClure of the LAPD's Robbery-Homicide Division. Nerses Galystyan was captured on surveillance video leaving the restaurant after the shooting, McClure said.

Hayk Yegnanyan, 25; Sarkis Karadjian, 26; Harut Baburyan, 28; and Vardan Tofalyan, 31, were killed in the shooting, police said. Two other men were wounded.

Some of the men had allegedly been active in organized crime and gun running and had convictions for fraud and weapons violations, police said. But the shooting evolved from a personal dispute, police said.

Both brothers were arrested on a murder warrant by U.S. Marshals.

But prosecutors and police say Samuel Galstyan will be released because police do not have sufficient evidence to keep him in custody.

"We are still looking at his involvement," Beck told reporters.

Samuel Galstyan was inside the restaurant when the shootings occurred, McClure said. "We believe he was substantially involved," he said. Detectives have yet to recover the weapon used in the killings, he added.

LAPD detectives and U.S. Marshals tracked the pair to the Seattle area. The home where they were staying was one of several locations that federal authorities had under surveillance.

In addition to the murder charges, a federal grand jury in Los Angeles has indicted Nerses Galstyan on separate charges of selling firearms without a license and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He and one of the victims, Tofalyan, last year allegedly sold illegal firearms to an informant working for federal agents.
