Armenia’s President congratulates NKR colleague on his reelection

YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan addressed a congratulatory message to Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, President Bako Sahakyan on his reelection to this office.
“Your convincing victory in the [NKR presidential] elections is the reaffirmation of the Artsakh people’s historic choice and irreversible course toward political freedom, democracy, and a society anchored in national and universal values. This road is shared by Armenia, Artsakh, and all Armenians. We have passed and are passing it together.
In your person, I wish the people of Artsakh progress, prosperity, and the meeting of present-day challenges. Also, I wish peaceful skies, which are the guarantee for all our future success,” President Sargsyan’s congratulatory message reads in particular.
As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, incumbent NKR President Bako Sahakyan won the elections by receiving a great majority of the votes. According to preliminary figures, Sahakyan received 47,085 votes (66.7%), NKR National Assembly MP Vitali Balasanyan received 22,966 votes (32.5%), and Deputy Director Arkadi Soghomonyan of Academic Activities at the NKR capital Stepanakert Branch of State Agrarian University of Armenia received 594 votes (0.8%).
