  • June 15 Wine Spectator article on wine making in Artsakh!

Yeah - its a very nice article that even delves into some of the history - ancient and modern. The article has yet to be posted on-line - but I got my print copy yesterday. Its five pages long with a bunch of pictures. While things are looking up its unfortunate that there are ony 2 wineries out of over a dozen that are still operating after the war. In the 1980s they had 42,000 acres of vinyards producing 200,000 tons of grapes per year - and now there are under 3,000 acres of vinyards and less then 5,000 tons. Its no surprise to me that Armenians from Fresno Cali are involved in revitalizing the grape growing!

I'll try to post the article - if I can - when it comes out online.
