Well, besides Tigran Naghdalian (head of Armenian public TV), the few politicians who were killed were involved in the mafia or illegal activities (I am not talking about the events of October '99. as I no longer consider it recent.) . I fail to feel bad for them, though I regret that we still have deputies who have obvious mob ties. Though this should decrease as time goes by, and as soon as we get a few influential politicians who will do a little cleaning-up.

The EU or the USA are quick to point out any incidents of the sort in young countries like ours, yet they seem to forget all that's been going on with the ETA in Spain, or the fact that a presidential (or prime minister) candidate in the Netherlands was also shot dead last year.
