Forum Rules (Everyone Must Read!!!)

1] What you CAN NOT post.

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is:
- abusive
- vulgar
- hateful
- harassing
- personal attacks
- obscene

You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)
- post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or cited properly.
- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

If you believe an individual is repeatedly breaking the rules, please report to admin/moderator.

Re: Armenian Teen Slain on Train

From what I've gathered via living in Moscow for a year and knowing and studying Russian history and present is this. Russians are an interesting mix. While parts of their culture are very advanced and developed - mostly literature, music, art (not necessarily a Russian feat either), some elements of their concious and behavior are very primitive and uneducated. Russia has enormouse resource riches, but outside of Moscow and few other major cities it is mired in xxxx, IMO due to these factors among few others: severe nationwide alcohol problem, laziness (although with presence of brilliance), and inability to look inside themselves for solutions instead finding fault with everything else. This is why, ruler after rule has xxxx on the people, while they've taken it, blindly hoping for the better future.

Today, foreigners, including people from Caucusus (Armenians and Georgians) are doing better in Russia than Russians themselves. They are more ingenious and creative when it comes to business and jobs than Russians who still expect the government to do everything for them, meanwhile drowning their problems in alcohol. Blaming the foreigners, especially the darkies is an easy way out of having to look inside and take control of their country.

Now, Moscovites are a special breed. They dislike anyone who's not a Russian or a Moscovite. They dislike and look down on Ukrainians, hate Americans, and misunderstand Armenians. The fact that Armenians have some very powerful organized crime or mafia in Russia doesn't help our image there.

Overall though, Russia is Armenia's partner and ally politically and has many historical ties with Armenia that go back centuries: several Russian counts and nobles of highest layers were of Armenian lineage. Russians are taught, as I've been told on few occasions, that Armenians are the oldest and culturally richest civilization in the old USSR block. They might think of Azeris and Chechens as savages, Ukrainians as dumbies with misplaced pride, but with Armenians I honestly feel that poverty, lack of self-empowerment, feeling of futility, even envy fuels the more primitive layers to lash out.

This is of course only my opinion and honestly could be a bit outdated. There might be other factors in play.

            Well said.

In 1999 we were coming back from Siberia to Armenia...at the Russian border you have to wait for like 5-10 hours just so that they can check your car...us being Armenians...as always...found some Chechen guys that said they will make us pass the border in 5 min for $200, we agreed...this Chechen guy sat in the drivers sit, and drove the car to the border...and suddenly soldiers run in front of the car yelling stop stop and they came and opened the trunk right away, this Chechen guy got out and said, close the trunk or I will cut everybody’s ears…there was about 15-20 soldiers standing with ak-47’s…they just simply backed down and let us go…

till this day i am amazed...

Okay, you know what I mean. I'm not gonna get all technical about this, but if you go out in the real world and ask anyone, ignorant or not, will tell you who they think Aryans are. It won't fly like that in the real world, is all I'm saying. People in general don't sit and read books on this, they go by what they know. Blame it on Nazis for tainting the word. Aryan, Aryan-Nordic..e/w they claimed.

On topic, Russians really don't care cause they want internal conflict. Don't ask me why, but it amounts to something in the end. If it didn't they would of done doing something about it. Divide and conquer? Anyway, this is been going on for a while, my cousin got jumped by them a few years ago in Moscow too.

                  I agree.

Again, the most important thing to keep in mind is that while we need to protect Armenians living in Russia, we must do so without falling victim to numerous manipulators who want to ruin the close strategic/political relationship that exists between Russia and Armenia.
