Turkey’s cheapest labor made their products cheaper in Caucasus and flooding our market with the products will kill our ‘alive’ producers in no time.

Armenia will import their “products” even cheaper; w/o paying tariffs at importing through Georgia. It will make their ‘products’ most cheaper ones; killing the rest of production we have.

And Armenia's Economic Pulse will be stopped.

Note please that minimal average wage in Armenia, in non government owned companies, is about $600.

After accepting all Turkish preconditions on AG, Western Armenia, Artsakh we will be looking as a second grade country in the world that lost its self-respect.

Imports will be increased immensely, thats right!!!!!!!!!!

Situation is terrific! Please don’t tell that Armenia is winning when, in fact, we are losing all the advantages we had/have forever!

Then why would Armenian government sign the protocols. They havent done yet; but if they are willing to do, I am sure they also know those risks.. still I believe no one would have a better position in the history than being a PM of a state; so since Sarkisyan would not want to be remembered as a traitor to his country, I think Armenia would benefit more than you think.

Theres a school of thought that believes Imports are allready lopsided vs Turkey, this may challange us and bring more diaspora investment to increase our exports .

Also, I am not an economist, but I think open-borders would mean more profit for the business in Armenia; and more profit would bring more investment from diaspora.

Having the borders closed, keeps a normal amount of turkish products
in flow with our country right now trade with turkey is 220 million, that is
a good amount, but with open borders will double to 400 million, which would
lower exports to even less than it is, and would flood our import rates higher
than it already is. The whole investment is bull, look at georgia, it has open
borders with turkey you don't see much investment being done by turks in
georgia, all they're doing is flooding their markets with turkish products, and on
a side note,to be honest turkish products aren't top quality i've tried some turkish
products and they aren't durable, their clothes aren't usually 100% cotton but
are mixed with spandex, polyster, and a bit of cotton which makes the quality low
notch.

Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (YTPP) Best In Region:

Yerevan Thermal Power Plant (YTPP) CJSC will be put in operation on April 30, 2010, Hovakim Hovhannisyan, Director General of YTPP told journalists on September 26. The Japan Bank for International Development allocated U.S. $250 million for the YTPP construction that started in July 30, 2008.

“Presently different units of the equipment are tested. RA President drew special attention to the plant arriving to see the process Sept. 26,” Hovhannisyan informed.

The modern YTPP with 272 MW installed capacity will generate electric power at twice-reduced consumption of gas – an unprecedented factor in the region. “The up-to-date technologies of European Alstom and Japanese Fuji (that are found nowhere in CIS) will enable to half the consumption of natural gas which is crucial under the price increase,” Hovhannisyan stated.

RA Energy Minister Armen Movsisyan emphasized YTPP’s key role in Armenian power sector. “The tariff policy as well as generating capacity will be effective and flexible,” he pointed out. The generated power will primarily be allotted for domestic demand. In the past, 400 employees were employed with the plant, however presently it makes 100 people only.

The new YTPP will be more state-of-the-art than the Russia-modernized Hrazdan TPP and the Hrazdan-5 (under construction). Although, the last two will be more effective, generating about 3.5 billion square kW/h annually, the Yerevan TPP – up to 1.5 billion.

Hmmm they built the largest and only international modern airport of Georgia and I can say they are rebuilding Tbilisi.

Aganbekian: Armenia can be energy leader in region

YEREVAN, September 23. /ARKA/. Armenia can become a regional leader in energy sector, academician of Russian Academy of Sciences Abel Aganbekian said.

Energy is a key point of Armenian economic efficiency, the academician said Tuesday at a round-table discussion on main issues of Armenian energy security.

Armenia has energy overproduction and can become a center of control of peak energy loads in the region, Aganbekian said.

Energy surplus can be exported to neighboring regions and countries, including Iran, Turkey, Iraq, and Georgia for additional hundreds of millions of dollars every year. For this, energy production needs to be developed at a high level in the country through cheaper production methods and reduced fuel costs for generation, Aganbekian said.

“It should be done in a balanced manner so that development of domestic energy needs for a number of power-intensive industries in the country is considered,” he said.

According to the RA National Statistical Service, a total of 3,268.5 million kilowatt-hour energy was produced in Armenia in January-July.

That more efficiant japanese plant must be pretty small since it is going to generate so much less then the other russian plants.
