You also may not:
- post images that are too large (max is 500*500px)

- post in UPPER CASE, which is considered yelling
- post messages which insult the Armenians, Armenian culture, traditions, etc
- post racist or other intentionally insensitive material that insults or attacks another culture (including Turks)

The Ankap thread is excluded from the strict rules because that place is more relaxed and you can vent and engage in light insults and humor. Notice it's not a blank ticket, but just a place to vent. If you go into the Ankap thread, you enter at your own risk of being clowned on.
What you PROBABLY SHOULD NOT post...
Do not post information that you will regret putting out in public. This site comes up on Google, is cached, and all of that, so be aware of that as you post. Do not ask the staff to go through and delete things that you regret making available on the web for all to see because we will not do it. Think before you post!

2] Use descriptive subject lines & research your post. This means use the SEARCH.

This reduces the chances of double-posting and it also makes it easier for people to see what they do/don't want to read. Using the search function will identify existing threads on the topic so we do not have multiple threads on the same topic.

3] Keep the focus.

Each forum has a focus on a certain topic. Questions outside the scope of a certain forum will either be moved to the appropriate forum, closed, or simply be deleted. Please post your topic in the most appropriate forum. Users that keep doing this will be warned, then banned.

4] Behave as you would in a public location.

This forum is no different than a public place. Behave yourself and act like a decent human being (i.e. be respectful). If you're unable to do so, you're not welcome here and will be made to leave.

5] Respect the authority of moderators/admins.

Public discussions of moderator/admin actions are not allowed on the forum. It is also prohibited to protest moderator actions in titles, avatars, and signatures. If you don't like something that a moderator did, PM or email the moderator and try your best to resolve the problem or difference in private.

6] Promotion of sites or products is not permitted.

Advertisements are not allowed in this venue. No blatant advertising or solicitations of or for business is prohibited.
This includes, but not limited to, personal resumes and links to products or
services with which the poster is affiliated, whether or not a fee is charged
for the product or service. Spamming, in which a user posts the same message repeatedly, is also prohibited.

7] We retain the right to remove any posts and/or Members for any reason, without prior notice.

- PLEASE READ -

Members are welcome to read posts and though we encourage your active participation in the forum, it is not required. If you do participate by posting, however, we expect that on the whole you contribute something to the forum. This means that the bulk of your posts should not be in "fun" threads (e.g. Ankap, Keep & Kill, This or That, etc.). Further, while occasionally it is appropriate to simply voice your agreement or approval, not all of your posts should be of this variety: "LOL Member213!" "I agree."
If it is evident that a member is simply posting for the sake of posting, they will be removed.

8] These Rules & Guidelines may be amended at any time. (last update September 17, 2009)

  • US State Dept's "Shared Values" program, Armenia and the xxxish lobby.

After 9/11, the U.S. State Dept. designed and began implementing a public diplomacy program in Middle Eastern states to promote the U.S. through marketing tools like the American Corner (i.e. a library of U.S. promotional material). The diplomacy program is entitled - the "Shared Values" program.

(see p.17 of 74 re: American Corner)

At least 4 American corners currently exist in Armenia. http://www.americancorners.am/en/

When the State Department was developing the Shared Values program, dignitaries conferred with Bruce Ramer (see American J-ewish Committee, Committee on Present Danger, Council on Foreign Relations, Shoah Foundation) whom they bragged was likely the most powerful person in Hollywood as represented to them by Michael Eisner. http://www.state.gov/r/adcompd/16670.htm

"Harold Pachios: Let me tell you what we did when we came back. We gave the report to Pat Harrison and discussed it with her. Then two weeks ago, he and I met with her. We told Pat Harrison this was to help her and that two of these key people, Bruce Ramer, a most powerful lawyer who represents Stephen Spielberg and many people, and Lionel Chetwynd, who is the patriot who does a lot of documentaries, both want to be helpful. So we are inviting them to meet with Pat Harrison. I already talked to Ramer last week. And Pat Harrison thanked us for arranging the connection for her.

Matt Lauer: And since that meeting what she has done with Rick Ruth – Rick Ruth is trying to create some sort of cultural connect program – we don’t have really a cultural program even though it is called Education and Cultural Affairs, we don’t have a cultural program anymore so she is trying to coordinate the whole cultural angle of it. Mr. Ruth has put together a "wish list" of things he wants from Hollywood and these are things like a promotional video with the production talent that they need to create it. They want celebrities to do public service announcements in the United States to advertise for host families for exchanges. It is items like that, which Hollywood can do for them. They are going to use us as the liaison to get at the different people in the sector.

Harold Pachios: Let me say one other thing, and this gives me an opportunity to just drop a name or two. We’re friends. Sen. George Mitchell had me to dinner at this apartment Saturday night in New York. He and his wife and three other couples there – I was alone, of course, and the couples were Peter Jennings and his wife from ABC, Bob Kerrey, and Michael Eisner and his wife. Anyway, it was very nice. I asked Michael Eisner about Bruce Ramer and do you know what he said? "Might be the most powerful guy in Hollywood because he represents all the talent so we have to deal with him. He is a very nice guy and a good friend of mine." He confirmed the power this guy has. And I asked him about our meeting with Valenti."

As President of the American J-ewish Committee, Mr. Ramer spouke before the House Judiciary Committee on 5/23/00 re: The Use of Secret Evidence in Immigration Proceedings. http://fas.org/sgp//congress/2000/ramer.html

As a member of the American J-ewish Committee, he along with ADL's Abe Foxman sought then Governor Bush's assistance in pushing once presidental hopeful Pat Buchanan out of the Republican Party. http://weeklywire.com/ww/11-01-99/boston_feature_1.html

"Last month, Bruce Ramer of the American xxxish Committee and Abraham Foxman of the Anti-Defamation League, along with others, traveled to Austin, Texas, to have lunch with Governor Bush. Ramer raised the issue of Buchanan, whose book A Republic, Not an Empire had just been published. In the book, Buchanan blames Britain and France for World War II: "Had Britain and France not given the war guarantees to Poland, there might have been no Dunkirk, no Belgium, Luxembourg, France, or even Italy." (This view has been shared by a minority of historians, but expressing it didn't win Buchanan any political points.) These concerns did not move Bush, who came out with a statement later the same week saying that Buchanan should remain in the party. "

Later, after accepting Bruce's invitation as AJC President, Bush stated to an audience including Mr. Ramer, Vicente Fox, Madeline Albright, Shimon Peres, etc. that "You may disagree with Mr. Ramer but when he invites you to lunch you go" and agreed with Mr. Ramer's depiction of Shimon "I'm a genocide denier" Peres as a poet.
The latest news and information from the Biden-Harris administration.

Note to self: Could you imagine a U.S. President calling Kurt Waldheim a poet? The horror over the reaction.

Previously, Turkey acknowledged Mr. Ramer's lobbying on their behalf directly to President Bush. http://www.tusiad.us/specific_page.cfm?CONTENT_ID=50

"xxxISH LOBBY SENDS A LETTER OF SUPPORT TO BUSH

The xxxish lobby in the US sent a letter to President Bush urging to continue the support Bush Administration is providing in Ankara's efforts to reestablish a cooperative relationship with the International Monetary Fund. The President of the American xxxish Community, Bruce Ramer, and executive director Shula Bahat said in the letter they appreciated Bush's personal support for Turkey. The letter stressed the development of Turkey's political and economic modernization is important for US strategic, political and economic interests in the region. /Milliyet/"

And, immediately after 9/11, the White House went directly to Mr. Ramer to assist in propagandizing the U.S.'s War on Terror Campaign to the international community. http://www.variety.com/article/VR111...enlists+in+war
    http://query.nytimes.com/gst/fullpag...,%20George%20W.

In 2006, Israel recruited Mr. Ramer and other Hollywood heavyweights to sign on to propaganda promoting the War on Terror. http://www.xxxishjournal.com/home/preview.php?id=16375

In 2006, Senator Leahy at an AJC Los Angeles event attended by Mr. Ramer stated that AJC is "able to do things that nobody else can."http://www.ajclosangeles.org/site/c....CLA_Events.htm

"Senator Patrick Leahy spoke about the importance of the AJC's work, commenting that AJC is 'able to do things that nobody else can.'"

Is there any wonder why Turkey expects the American J-ewish lobby to deliver on squashing Congressional support and passage of Armenian genocide recognition resolutions and why the ADL's beantown beatdown has got little national TV media coverage?

Karen Hughes - Pres. Bush's selection to lead the promotion of U.S. public diplomacy via the Shared Values Program and American Corner project resigns as Undersecretary of State for public diplomacy and public affairs,. http://www.latimes.com/news/printedi...news-a_section

What I want to know is if the Shared Values program and American Corners were designed to promote the U.S. image in the muslim world, why were they placed in Armenia? How insulting that George W. Bush, Jr. - Mr. Christian himself - and his little underlings like the Secretary of State don't know that Armenia is a Christian nation and Armenians were the first practicing Christians.

How is the U.S. going to win over the hearts and minds of Muslims when their diplomats can't discern between Muslim nations and Christian nations. And, oh by the way, I didn't know Armenia was in the Middle East.

On a side note, the most powerful person in Hollywood who was drafted by Bush to help promote his War on Terror and then handpicked by the State Department to assist in promoting the U.S. in the Muslim world, recently met with a PR firm - perhaps, to help mount a defense to potential bad publicity based on his supporting Bush's War on Terror? The War on Terror is a controversial issue in Hollywood.

Armenia borders Iran and Turkey, two countries that are supposedly "anti-American."

I think the objective of this American Corners program is long-term; to have pro-American leaders running Armenia (and many other countries) in the future. They have long lost Cuba and Iran, and are losing Venezuela and (supposedly, but I don't buy it) Turkey.

A simple Google search reveals that there are American Corners in Russia and Poland as well.

Yeah, well the philosophy behind creating American Corners was to place them in muslim countries to promote the U.S.

Under the scattered brain implementation by the State Dept., they should be placing them all over South and Central America and Mexico as Reagan's vision of democracy and 41's continuation of that vision in those regions and other countries beyond Venezuela have gone left strongly. And, by left, I am not talking about liberals.

Were Armenians involved in the 9/11 attack?

Dude that's nothing. Remember in 2002, when they had that special INS registration. All but two countries on that list were Muslim countries. The other two were Armenia and North Korea.

They took Armenia off the list pretty quickly, but still that's pretty idiotic. It makes you wonder though if it was the result of our enemies' lobbying efforts.
