Re: Will Turks and Armenians unite?
I know what you guys mean. I've just had bad experiences with my negative emotions. What's even more problematic is that the "depravity of the Turk" only exists in an abstract realm/dimension of thinking, because today's Turks are not the perpetrators of the crimes that happened 90 years ago. They merely support that lingering abomination of a leadership with their state sponsored attitudes towards Armenians and Greeks. It's politics.
If you want to hear a less "sterile" sounding me, I'll show you some things I genuinely believe in...
Everyone must learn martial arts to whatever extent they are at least physically capable of, should be well aquainted with the means to use force, with the limitations and abilities of their bodies and minds. A population should not be totally dependant on an army for defense. In addition, athletic abilities that are useful outside of a game situation, such as sprinting and long distance running, rock climbing, etc... should be not only highly appealing and fun, but also highly esteemed.
People must be brought up not letting their flags define them, but knowing that it is they, who define their flags. This would provide more incentive for people to better themselves and their country.
We ought to learn about what factors of production are being used in our economy and the manner in which they are planned and produced in order to provide us our livelyhood.
If you don't know these things, your nation has no backbone, so what's the point of resenting people? To me, a nation, any nation, who's people aren't even aware of what they eat, what ensures that they get to sleep under a roof at night, is just a herd of sheep. If a sheep resents a Turk, he's still a sheep. My top priorities just so happen to not include showing resentment.
