  • What's happening in Lebanon?

Seeing what's happening in Lebanon this days I start to recall 70's and 80's with it's terrible civil war.
I actually don't know in details the point of conflict today, except that pro Iranian militia fighting pro EU government. Also hearing Hesbolah militia fighting against some xxxish supporters and some Cristian gunman. Knowing that a lot of our Armenian brothers and sisters still leaving over there the Q is what is there stand in this conflic? And do they actually actively taking part in fightings today?

To me, I don't know???? From one side I'm not a supporter of Israel in destruction of Lebanon that's for sure, but from another I'm also not a supporter of Hasbolah. Just thinking what's good for Armenians of Lebanon, may be just to get out of there?

Very sad & trajic of whats going on?
I dont understand why people have to resolve to war & killing people. It would be a much better life if there was peace, hopefully one day all this war will stop & life will be enjoyable.

If you convince someone that killing another for specific reasons is good, they will do it. It appears that we're not all naturally immune to this kind of power of suggestion, and we never will be, in fact, we probably wouldn't have grown so much as a species if it were not for our brutal competition for resources.

Sometimes I think to myself, if everyone had their sexuality stripped from them, knowing that they were the last and only remaining generation to ever populate the land, no exceptions, would we be peaceful and try to enjoy ourselves for whatever life we had left, or would we still continue rallying in groups that kill each other?

Think about it, no competition for mates, for resources to ensure we have descendants, and thus no sense of race... That's a lot of the stuff we live for right there, just tossed out the window.

Perhaps this is the only condition in which human peace could exist, and I don't think mankind would ever be ready to willingly accept it, it's just not in our nature as a species, I mean come on, what do you think we go through puberty for? To get taller?

For the same reason that Armenians live free and independent in Artsakh, compared to the rest of us trying to hold on our identity in the Diaspora. If you want to be pacifist than you should accept integration that if you are lucky to be in a civilized society or be enslaved in others.

it's been a similar pattern all over the world in many countries: pro-west advocates(US, NATO, EU) vs. pro-(Russian, Iran, China, pro-government which is not western) advocates
